When you start paying off your mortgage, there may be some quick wins you can do, such as cashing in premium bonds or clearing out a savings account.
As the months and years pass, it is easy to lose motivation a bit as overpayments become a bit of a grind, especially in the current climate of increased fuel and food costs etc.

Today I have:
- Paid £6.16 off my mortgage in order to round it down.
- Prepared an order for dispatch (I started a cottage industry to help overpay)
- I will go to the supermarket with a list so that I am not tempted by non essential goods
- I will not spend on non essentials

I bought an extra washing line:rotfl:This means that I can wash less frequently (big loads which use the same amount of electricity, powder, etc) and get it all dry all at once!:p Simple - why didn't I think of it before.0

Totally no spend day today as no accessible pennies until hubbie gets paid on Thursday, also saving on petrol as not going to work today as dd has lots of red spots and blisters so just waiting for GP appointment.0

My eldest has badly broken his collar bone:o It's all a real worry. Can't leave him for to long...so no shopping for me._pale_0

This is a great idea. To Do
1 - All daily clicks (as cashback sites earnings are very poor at the moment)
2 - Check savings account Interest Rates and make sure money is in the best place.
If I don't do item 1 you can all come round and kick me0 -
Brilliant idea - I really need to get back on track!
1) Going for a no spend day
2) Dinner is already in the slow cooker for when we get home from work so won't be tempted to nip into the supermarket to buy a quick and easy tea!
That's all I can think off so far.

1) Will be making a concerted effort to sort out our little room to find stuff to ebay.
2) Have created a spreadsheet to keep track of how my OP will have an impact on the total capital.
3) Dinner already bought when we did our big shop 2 weeks ago0 -
Brilliant idea to have one of this type of threads for the MFWs.
Today I have
1) transferred my ebay sales £53 from paypal to my current account so I can add it to the amount i will overpay this month.
2) I have listed some books on GreenMetropolis
3) Brought my lunch in from home (and will keep doing this as canteen is expensive)
4) not bought a coffee from the coffeeshop
Not a lot but every little bit counts. Can't wait to make my overpayment on 20th and see the figures go down - it feels greatMS Stalwart. Used site for >10 years :jMake Do, Mend and Minimise member - focussing on upcycling/repurposing and sewing0 -
I made a packed lunch today and filled an empty bottle with Apple & Blackcurrent cordial. I'm going for a no spend day today!
I also received notification in this morning's post to say that my invoice has been processed and so I'll be receiving £14k tomorrow for last month's work (Yay!!). I was getting a bit desperate for cash to be honest and was on the verge of dipping into my offset account emergency savings :eek:Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)
