Tonight I 'm making nasi goreng with yesterday's left over rice.
I've changed the break down insurance. Saved £24 over the year, and got much better cover.
To do
- check how many months left on my and OH's mobile phone contract and switch back to pay as you go.
- cancel veg box completely, rather than cancelling the odd one and then being charged because I forgot- the weeks go fast!
- make bread and butter pudding with left over breadCC [STRIKE]2771[/STRIKE] 14190 -
Today I am going to have a NSD! (After slightly overspending while away at the weekend I need one to get back on track!!!).
Brought a (slightly dry) bread roll from home for lunch, and had with a tin of soup from my storecupboard.
Updated my 'money spreadsheets' as it is payday tomorrow - we are actually on track this month - wayhay!
Went through my 'storecupboard list' and planned meals for next 2 weeks, using up as much as poss, then made the 'essential shopping' list of ingredients needed to 'finish' the meals on my list. Only 3.5 weeks to our holiday so want to empty the cupboards & freezer instead of spending so we have a bit more spending money for hols! The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"

I'm back from hols. Had a fab time and have managed not to go too far over budget for the month. I've made my monthly mortgage overpayment and still have a fair chunk to put towards my new kitchen.
This week I'm stretching my storecupboards to the limit and living on the £5ish that was in my purse. I must make some bread tonight. Unfortunately my freezer defrosted itself while I was away so I had to throw all the food away. The good news was that I'd run it down in my pre-holiday belt-tightening so there wasn't that much in it. I'll have to do some restocking after payday on Friday - but that's next month's budget!0 -

I managed a NSD today :T .
Well done coldstreamalways  . OH & I like going horse racing. And I like a bargain.... but hate bargaining. For those of you who watch the Morning Line on C4, OH has challenged me to find Barry Dennis at the races & persuade him to give me a better price on his Bismark..... I think I will do it. For those of you who don't watch it*, BD is a bookie who instead of giving winning tips actually tells you faves & short priced geegees he thinks won't win. So if he thinks it won't win he might as well give me 8-1 rather than 7-1. That will be my argument anyway

Didn't do too badly yesterday, but not as well as I'd hoped!
Today I have been to (free) gym and got £40 for tutoring already. About to go fishing.
When I come back I plan to:
Collect free prescription (Wales)
do 2 hours promotion work
cook a 10p bargain bought last night from Asda with loads of veg from allotment!

Getting ready to return to school BOO!
Still it will be good to get back into a routine! I will find it hard to do my supermarket job with teaching full time as well, but i know i'll get used to it again soon.
Today I will clean up, check banking, plan tomorrows tutoring and sew fleece linings onto my curtains, I think we have seen the end of the summer!
Tomorrow I will take library books back, get rest of prescription and do two hours tutoring after school.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

I'm getting ready to go back to school too. Today I have mowed the lawns, cut the hedges, done two loads of washing and got it dried before it rained, tackled a huge pile of ironing AND looked for a recipe for tomorrow's tea using what is in the cupboard. I'm shattered but all that has meant a NSD:DMFW 1/5/08 £45,789 Cleared mortgage 1/02/13

NSD today and NPD. Plus I have read electricity and gas metres in order to assess usage, so I can try and cut back.
Also ate an egg that was 6 days out of date so that counts as a free supper - egg on toast! lol!! I may die though!!:D

Our local B&Q had a 10% off day today so we went and bought the lining paper and paint for the spare room (which IS going to get decorated now!) as well as the sealing strip we need to finish off the bathroom.
Did the meal plan for the week - working our way through the contents of the freezer still.
Started an energy use log (thanks to SMF2 for inspiration) so will be hopefully keeping a closer watch on our electricity use in particular.
Taken a bagfull of stuff to the hospice shop and bought books while I'm there rather than making a special trip.
Done all the filing of bank statements, bills etc that was piling up on the desk in the spare room.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
