Well today I've just transferred £11 OP from the interest that I skimmed off out rental account. I need to find time to make an appointment to see our IFA to help us decide what to do with my redundancy.
Writing our shopping list so I can order it online later using some of the Tesco vouchers I had through yesterday.0 -
We're having a inventive weekend with food - I want to get some of the odds and bits cleared from the freezer / fridge, so we've done a minimal Tesco shop this week (Although OH was with me so we suddenly "needed" squash, there was a good deal with some cheap Tuna, and I stocked up on some bits that were on (very) special offer, so it came in over my list budget!) and will make up meals from what we've got. A friend gave me a load of fresh tomatoes from her garden (and Runner beans and potatoes - yummy!) and I got a lump of reduced mozarella last week - with some sliced Chorizo sausage from Lidl that's going to be turned into home made pizza tonight! Will have to see what else can be done......
Done Piggy competition entries this morning - just away now to sort out getting some of my photos printed up as a present for the Dad of one of our Speedway riders - not going to earn me any cash but they will be exchanged for a couple of drinks at our end of season do so that's not too bad a deal! Once OH is at Rugby training later on I will do my usual Saturday baking - probably muffins again as I've got a really nice recipe now. Think I'll try blackcurrant ones for a change. I didn't buy any soft fruit this week either - hopefully we'll get time to visit the PYO later on.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Have caved in to pressure from OH and am about to book a really nice hotel for a night. Getting bathrom done and have not had a shower/bath/sink/toilet for a week (used neighbours so I don't smell!) but a nice bathroom and pool etc would be lovely! going through quidco so will get something back and it is a good deal anyway.
No point saving all this money if my marriage doesn't make it!!!
Other than that I am going to do an hours promotion work and then do some overtime plus my normal shift.
Can't wait to relax tomorrow this overtime is killing me - but you have to take it whilst its there!
Have a great weekend everyone!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Still trying really hard to be MF!
I have hardly used my car since I finished work in July (I normally fill up every 8-9 days as I am an essential car user and I have filled up once and still have over 3/4 tank!)
I'm trying to be very OS with my food and cooking and have kept my grocery bills to the minimum, and I'm working hard at surveys although very often I get so far and then they tell me I'm not their target group....I wish they'd ask me 'that' question at the beginning.
Today I plan a NSD, NPD, batch cook, clicks and surveys, and line dry for washing.

Today I have line dried my washing, made a loaf in the BM, made a curry in the SC which will do for tomorrow's tea as well as todays. I've been up since 7am and have painted the kitchen. DH has taken the boys to the rugby he'll have to pay for his ticket but the boys have free ones so will save at least £15.

Yesterday I took my two daughters to our nearest big town for a bit of ...shudder to type the word...shopping.
I hate shopping (yes I know i'm not a normal woman!) and hate taking the girls even more, because they constantly ask me to buy things for them. But I was sooo proud of them yesterday. We had to walk past the disney store (grrr) and they asked to go in, but DD10 said "we only want to look, Mum, we don't have to buy anything". I couldn't beleive my ears, but they were true to their word. We just looked, left and went on to buy just the things we needed - and went home! We'd managed to leave early enough to get done what we needed to before lunchtime - so that saved money as well.weaving through the chaos...0 -
:T I hate shopping too!! :T
Yay, I'm not weird :T (well, no worse than you lot).

Lovely to read all these posts lots of good stuff. I think it is easy to be disheartened with MFW as it is over such a long time.
-Research cheap flights
I am planning a trip to Malaga to see my Uncle in Oct so hope to get cashback on the flights and will fly out of Gatwick as it is cheaper than Southampton (would be more convenient).
-Have a No Spend Day
Have a huge batch of ministrone which I made out of things I had lying around anyway. Made chicken stock out of the Sunday lunch left overs so virtually free.
-Keep off the wine
Cheaper and help loose weight
-Use my gym membership for the first time since May.Save £12k in 25 No 49

In the last three or four days I wouldn't say I've fallen off the MFW wagon, I haven't spent a lot, but I haven't done a lot either to bring in more income so my OP pot for the week is looking a bit dismal! OH and I went away for a night and the hotel forgot to charge us for 2 bottles of wine, would have owned up but the service was dreadful! Other than that with the nice weather I have spent far too long at my allotment and got nothing else done! Still no point beating myself up about it! Must move on! I agree it is hard to keep going when I will reach my goal in 10 years time!
Savings:
Today I will only use car for essential journey to work and library.DONE
I will use up allotment food - in soup and with pasta DONE
sort out freezer and store cupboards DONE

Only send 5 texts - Im terrible at texting away my money! NOT DONE - Sent loads!
Income
I will do two hours promotion work NOT DONE
I will spend an hour planning some tuition DONE
3 hours overtime plus normal shift. DONE
Tomorrow I will go to gym at 7.30, back for two hours tutoring at 8.30, then going fishing - hence need to make room in my freezer - fingers crossed!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j
