Eating home grown radishes and lettuce now, carrots nearly ready. Peas are flowering so am hopeful that these will be a success. We managed to eat our first strawberry today (shared it with my 2 children) - all the ones ready previously have been munched by something (even with nets in place).
Buying more supermarket own brand products - does make a difference to the bill but minimal difference in quality with most items.
Watch out for woodlice, they've had a field day with my strawbs (which were also under netting) as I was away last week and couldn't pick them. I've left the manky ones in situ and they seems to be ignoring the nice new ones.
My NSD has included picking a punnets worth of strawbs from the back garden and a bowls of raspberries which I was going to freeze but the smalls got to them first....still that's healthier than choc!

set up a pigsback account a few weeks ago and so far have about 500 points. I'm planning on saving any vouchers towards christmas! Might look into an asda credit card tonight so hopefully more vouchers. Im also going to start using my boots advantage card more (sometimes forget). Hopefully cheap christmas this year.0

1. Listed an item on eBay
2. Did a 'on offer only' booze, cleaning and toiletry shop on Tesco online to use my £11.50 worth of vouchers
3. Made space in the garage for the new chest freezer we are getting on Monday in a bid to save money (speculate to accumulate?) by freecycling some items we no longer use.0 -
Today i have......*claimed a pigsback voucher worth £10
*done my daily clicks
*sold a book on greenmetropolis (£3 -P+P)
*signed up for 3 mystery shops including dinner tonight!! (and all 3 had premium payments-yipee =£9profit plus free food!)
...downside is i spent £30 on a double buggy sunshade tho. (but this comes out of my account, whereas the money made above goes straight into mortgage!)Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞0 -
I haven't been great at doing daily things recently but am still bringing lunch into work and so saving that cost.
I still use Topcashback for anything i can and have about £150 coming my way (which will add to Mortgage OP) as soon as it all comes through - seems to be taking ages!
I have spoken to Mortgage company and worked out that I can make my monthly OP online from my online bank account (i don't have online mortgage facilities) so will save myself the cost of a stamp (and the time in the post) each month.
I am trying to be generally frugal and have pronted out lots of shopping coupons so will save money on next tesco shop.
I'm thinking of turning my hot water off as I am trying to go to the gym every day and I shower there, so could always boil a kettle for washing up. (it would help with motivation for going to the gym too)

I signed up as a Kleeneze distributor today - not quite sure how it'll go but nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?
