Morning Chums ,I have just got back from dropping DGD Katy at her work experience placement .She is loving it and all her nerves have disappeared.
I had my groshon line out yesterday and although I'm a bit stiff this morning am feeling great at the moment . I have the WM burbling away in the kitchen at the moment and hopefully will get the washing on the line for a decent blow. Its not as warm as yesterday but still bright here. I may try making a lemon drizzle cake as I have my DD Tessa coming for lunch today as she has a days work at the estate agents at the top of my road. She worked three days a week there, but because of the cut backs it has been dropped to two. Hope everyone has a great day and <<hugs to those in need>>
    Cheers JackieO

    Morning :hello:

I don't think I got round to posting here yesterday! I know I contributed to southernscouser's thread, but didn't get on the Daily at all.

catowen & dlb - big well done on the weight loss! I still haven't lost any more, but then I haven't really been trying :o
mrs_mix - good to know your Dad is being looked after well xx
Benthosboy - how lovely to see you in such a good mood :j :j
PippaD - aww, sorry no baby yet, but hey, being in labour is a good start in my opinion :rotfl:
N9eav - sorry about your veggies
mumzyof2 - good luck with the not smoking again - it WILL work out if you stick at it :)
Essex-girl - I hope that contract comes through quicksmart.
    Hester - :j :j :j :j :j :j

:hello: and :grouphug: as required to those I have not mentioned. Brain like a sieve when there are so many of you.

I went shopping last night and picked up a few bargains - went round a few different shops to see what they had. Got some organic lamb mince and a bunch of slightly wilting rhubarb from Tesco, all half price, and a bottle of balsamic vinegar (which I needed) from the local 99p shop. Got a tub of soft marg as well so will do a rhubarb crumble when I get home tonight. Mince is in the freezer, I will probably use it in a bulghur wheat pilaff from a student cookbook I've had for years. I made it once before and it was very tasty - and I have all the ingredients in the house, so it's an obvious "storecupboard" recipe.

I also had a long phone call with a friend - was really pleased to do so, as I worry about her a lot and she had not returned my last few phone calls. She is disabled and has a variety of other health problems, and while she has a very understanding employer who has kept her job open for her, she's off sick more of the time than she's at work, and isn't bringing in any money at all - her parents are paying her rent and a small allowance (they are well-off, and are treating it as an advance on her inheritance). She gets so fed up being stuck in the flat all day in pain, and not having 2p to rub together, but she can't go on benefits at the moment as her company won't sign her off permanently sick, even though they are not actually paying her a wage at present as she's run out of her sick pay entitlement  This has been going on four or five years now...

I watched that thing on BBC3 last night about the school for teenage mums and thought it was really well balanced and positive (well as positive as a programme about girls having babies at age 13 can be). BBC3's been good at that sort of thing recently - showing programmes about teen mums who take their responsibilities seriously and have goals in life, rather than the "chavs destined for a lifetime on benefits" approach that usually gets portrayed in the media (well, when I say media, perhaps I mean the Daily Mail :D)

This evening I am planning a theatre trip to see Romeo and Juliet - a friend of mine is in it.

    Love Rzl xx

    Morning everyone
the weather is warm but cloudy here, the wm had just finished so i`ll be out in the garden soon hanging out the washing.
The french loaf that i`ve taken out of the bm looks really weird on top, imagine a thick cake mix all lumpy and swirly:eek: it seems ok apart from this though, hope so i`ll be eating it later.

Dlb - congrats on the weight loss, thats fantastic

Hester - hope that you find a new lodger soon, i think that we will all miss hearing about Katy`s antics

Just off to catch up on another thread then i`d better get a move on with the rest of the chores or i`ll not get all my jobs done before i go to work.
    Have a lovely day everyone.

Hi all - have just skimmed the thread at 100mph but just wanted to say

MARTYN - that is fantastic news! She sounds lovely - exactly what you deserve!

    PIPPA - good luck!

    DLB - that's a fantastic weight loss!

N9EAV - so sorry to hear about the rabbits eating all your veggies.

HESTER - you must be delighted! The house is going to seem so quiet and peaceful once she's gone! We will all miss her - it's been exciting following her antics vicariously through you! You'll have to come up with something else to blog about and, knowing you, you will!

    JACKIE0 - so glad you're feeling good!

ESSEX-GIRL - I hope things pick up for your DH; mine is pretty busy at the moment and he says he daren't turn anything down because he is expecting it all to suddenly dry up. It's a nerve-wracking time. Thank heavens he has his HGV licence so he can always fall back on truck-driving - he hates it but 'needs must....' as they say.

MRS MIX - thinking about you and your Dad.

Well, DH has just left - eventually - why does it take him so long? He has always been forgetful and absent-minded and I swear it's getting worse! It's fine at the moment while my memory is good but I keep telling him that that won't last forever!

Isn't the weather wonderful again? I'm glad it's breezier, though.

Well, I'd better go and get ready to go out - see you all later.

    morning all :hello:
I've got an exam this afternoon, one of my final university ones, so to say i'm nervous is an understatement! I'm off to a birthday party tonight though, so that'll be nice. The weather here is lovely, with a breeze so its not too hot! :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Good Morning!

I decided to walk the puppy early today as it is so much cooler and nicer so will have to set my alarm clock in future.

The food dehydrator is buzzing away with trays of banana slices, bramley apple slices and pear slices in. The cinnamon apple slices I did at the weekend are lovely and very moreish which could be a problem. Aussie I have visions of you in a stripy t shirt with a stocking over your head now casing joints with fruit trees in the gardens! :rotfl:

benthosboy - so good to hear you so happy!
Mrs Mix - keeping my fingers crossed for your Dad's move to nursing home
Hilstep - (((hugs))) MS is horrible (my friend has it) but you are doing so well especially coping with getting kids through their sats.
Hester - Wow! you'll miss her, it will be so quiet! ;)
Cat and dlb - Well done, I am on day 2 of a new healthy eating diet (bp is up) so have high hopes of some weight loss!
Pippa - fingers crossed baby arrives soon

Well better get on with the ironing before it gets too hot!

(((hugs))) to Smoky, PP, Jayward, Candygirl, Mrs Mix, Hilstep and anyone else who could use one.

    Catz x
