Where to start on this one,
Popcorn maker (ok i didnt buy it mum did but still went to back of beyond)
Donut maker (car boot buy by my son for 2 quid used once)
Pie maker - never used couldnt find instructions
Bread maker - from freecycle and went on a couple of months ago as i didnt like the holes in bread from the blade
George foreman - wedding gift used only by Hubby a few times to do bacon, i find it quicker in the grill.
Extendable window pole thing from betterware to clean windows high up without ladders - absolutely useless as once extended you cant get any pressure behind it to actually clean the glass so look like your having a lite saber fight with the gods.
Possibly many more but cant think right now.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

You've reminded me, also had a breadmaker but hubby didn't like the bread for it....bought it from new and ended up freecycling it, not very money saving?
Didn't have a george foreman grill but a cheaper equivalant, it cooked so slowly and was a pig to clean so threw it away in discust!
Also have had lots of fitness equipment, not sure if it didn't work exactly or just that I was lazy.:rotfl:
An ab strengthener thing that you pushed along floor, gave away to a friend who never used it either.
A 6 second Ab machine, used religiously for a couple of weeks, didn't see any change so freecycled it.
An ab sit up frame thing, gave to a friend.
A stationary bike that I got from freecycle, so at least that didn't cost me anything, put back on freecycle.
Step machine, put on freecycle.
I'm seeing a pattern here, no wonder I'm always broke but my local freecycle must love meThere is no issue so small that it can't be blown out of proportion0 -
I'm not much of a gadget person so I don't have much sitting around unused. The only things I can think of are my juicer - an old model which I bought second hand and sends most of the juice flying round the kitchen, so you end up wearing more than you drink - and a toaster, which I've had to abandon as the bread from my bread machine doesn't fit in the slots. :mad:Back after a very long break!0

For me it's bread machine (although it was useful for a while as it was my introduction to breadmaking) and the George Forman which I only use to make toasted sandwiches.

I'll add your thread to it once you've had some more replies to keep the advice together.

I can already see a pattern in what people have bought and not used -
breadmaker - persuaded to buy it by Mum off her friend for £25 in the hope that it might make nice gluten-free bread. Which it does, but the bread doesn't keep.
stick blender - thought I would use it for soups and never have. £5 from Tesco.
sandwich maker - persuaded to get one by son when we were given some Argos vouchers but used only five times as plates are so hard to keep clean. Am keeping it only to send it with him or DD if they go to Uni.
steamer - not sure about this one as it is wonderful to stick the veggies in and walk away, especially if there are guests and I have other things to do but there is a little hole into the bottom of it that is now leaking brown juice. YUK! I'm not sure I trust it, even if I can fill the hole with boiling water to sterilise it out.
Someone needs to start a thread about really useful gadgets just to get the opposite point of view.0 -

A couple of my waste of space items : George Foreman grill thing...bread machine...given to charity.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

I also have a Window Wizard. My dad it bought it for me and within 10 mins, I had got the magnets stuck together and they broke trying to prize them apart!! We taped the magnet back on, but it was still a rubbish gadget. It doesn't really do the corners of your windows!
Also have a 4 in 1 slow cooker/porridge maker/steamer/rice cooker. I have never used it. I just wanted a slow cooker and I am too scared of this contraption. Every week I intend to try it, but that's been nearly 2 years now!
And someone gave us an electric corkscrew bottle opener. Hmm, why?0 -
Well, I love my breadmaker. Put the ingrediants in, press a few buttons and relax for 5 hours ( 50% wholemeal loaf ) :j
Stick Blender - fantastic gadget. ( Actually, it does have the chopping bowl thingy at the end which I use as well )
Sandwich Toaster - totally useless, hard to clean, took up too much space. In the end, it blew up and ended up in the bin :rotfl:“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0
