If you have a PEMC you cannot normally take out insurance online as you have to speak to them to declare the condition. Some companies, Columbus I think, do have a list of PEMC you can do online.

Best suggestion - dont buy cheap - get the coverage you need and then compare prices.

I always recommend Fortis (available at Post Office in person or on-line)

  • I've read so many posts in this thread now that I have forgotten who is good and who is bad. Now I know that Axa/White Horse are bad and they underwrite for companies such as Multitrip etc who offer some good deals on the comparison sites.

Other than the Fortis one which is really expensive, who else are good companies to go with? I think I read that Columbus are good?

I'm off skiing for a week in a few weeks, and I have a weekend in Scotland in August and then a wedding in South Africa in October, so multitrip is the way forward for me, with winter sports included. So, who to go with?

TRAVELLER - if you want cheap but good - look at:

    Tesco - RBS - Direct Line - Barclays - Drakefield (http://www.gotravelinsurance.co.uk/)

The link (Drakefield) is cheap but in ANY CASE please check that you have adequate coverage BEFORE you buy.

CHARMAINE - That is every Broker - Brokers are retailers of insurance and their jub is to compare various companies and policcies.

Just somee brokers are better than others.
