Is Big blue insurance company any good? Had a quote for £26 for 3 adults skiing for 1 week.0
-
Big Blue is underwritten by White Horse who do not have a very good reputation for fair claims handling.
Await FH Brit's reply when he sees who the underwriter is!0 -
Thanks - will look at other quotes then!:(0

Big Blue = Never dealt with them, but if it is a White Horse Scheme = Run Away ! ! !
Liz - stay away from them and Axa - really not worth the savings. W/Horse are based in Ireland and therefore you have nothing to back you up if you need it = ALWAYS use an insurer that is Authorized with the FSA not as in W/Horse case by the Irish version who won't help you as you are not an Irish Resident.
Also £26 for 3 adults and dangerous sports - I wonder what coverage you are getting for that even if they were reputable!
DA - Just got an FSA ruling through today (AXA) $59,000.00+ upheld as lady had OCPD and declared it and Axa denied as related to PEMC (which FOS adjuicator gave me transcript from the sales call to Axa wher they said they would cover!) but patient treated for Pneumonia and (Per our Dr's) Pneumonia is viral and somethin you catch, therefore cannot be PEMC although condition MAY have been more chronic as pt had PEMC == Ruling Axa has to pay us in full within 30 days and 8% interest and 8% award to patient for costs.C. Are Aviva a good company to go with?
I was quoted £38 single trip to USA with baggage cover and Topcashback do £15 back until 31st march?0 -
Aviva are as good as any, in the "top half" of IC's - You still need to check that you are buying adequate coverage,
See the FCO's recommendations;

Hi
Two questions I'd like to ask my generous fellow money savers:
1. should I deem a hernia repair operation I had seven months ago as "A pre-existing condition for a trip to New York soon?
2. I go to the USA on my own and my partner goes to the continent on her own and sometimes we go away together. If I got us a 'couple' annual worldwide policy, would we be covered when we travel by ourselves?
I'm finding getting insurance really complicated. I'm just imagining waking up in an American hospital and wanting to get on the phone to see that my bills are covered!
Many thanks,
LT0
