I would check with the individual insurance companies - You may find that they will cover you as long as you are not going to the places the FCO advices against.

Hi everyone. I'm currently a UK resident working away in New Zealand(NZ) with NZ travel insurance. Problem is I want to find cheaper than $149 for 2 mths travel insurance that covers accidents from any sport. My uk one from sta travel expired and they won't renew. I'm currently with sta travel NZ and they don't cover half the stuff the uk one did.

Bascially I need travel insurance cover including total sports that i can buy in New Zealand.

As you are working in NZ you are no longer a UK resident (until you go back) therefore you will not be able to take out UK insurance (trust me I've tried) same as me in US. As a side note you are lucky because if you are working out of the UK then travel insurance does not cover (in most policies) as you work & reside outside of the UK you should have taken (and probably need now) an ex-pat policy (but they aint cheap).

Leigh-Anne's right - and in most cases talk to a broker as you can insure against anything and most insurers will cover anything, the big question is can you afford the premium? e.g. Parchuting using a 2 foot parachute = insure your life for £1m your premium probably £2m (silly example I know but shows the point!) a bit like odds on betting!

we go on holiday 4 times a year but only in england. I am looking for a basic policy that will cover me for the cost of losing my deposits if i have to cancel my holidays due to illness or dogs being ill etc. I have paid out £600 in deposits for this year and just need a basic policy to cover me if I can't go for any reason.
All the ins policies I have seen are really for travelling abroad, illness, flight cancellations etc etc.
can anyone point me in the right direction please. thanks

Really? We were caught in the airport closure in Bangkok and rang Flexicover Direct and were told that it was classed as terrorism and therefore not covered by our policy.

You are covered for terrorism but only under the medical and personal accident sections. Anything else and it's the same as most other insurers and they don't cover for terrorism! I'm assumiing you claimed for delay or something?
