I'm gonna ring Currys.
I need to know when they are gonna come with my Breadmaker!
Maybe tommo? Or thursday Friday?
Morning? Afternoon Evenings?
Calm down dear...it's only a breadmaker!
I know though...it's exciting isn't it, I ordered mine on Saturday night so don't have a clue when to expect it. I've got my flour, yeast, oil, milk powder all ready and waiting.0 -
Just to say, received my B/M today tempting to try it now but will set it up tonight for fresh morning bread!
Cant believe it take 5 hours to do a wholemeal bread though. The one I borrowed from my mums ( Prima ) only took 3 hours. I suppose that must be one of the secrets of tasty bread by panasonic B/M!
Right! Next is to get a slow - cooker....0 -

Also, it starts off with a 'settling period' where absolutely nothing happens. So what I've been doing is to start the BM going without the bread pan in while I do the mixing. It only shaves a few minutes off, but sometimes a few minutes is all you need.
Must go and put a wholemeal in now ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

My breadmaker hasn't arrived yet...
As for the slow cooker. I was wondering about them and have had a quick look around on this site. Don't really understand whether or not they are cheaper to operate than having a pan on for an hour on a gas hob. I'm not out all day usually so that wouldn't be a benefit. Although I'm veggie so don't really cook stews or anything, I do make a lot of soup and cook lots of pulses and that can take 1+ hours...
Lots to think about!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
I think, roughly, that a slow cooker on for eight to ten hours uses more or less the same amount of power as having an electric ring on for about twenty minutes to half an hour. This, of course, is very approximate because of the differences in slow cooker power levels and just how high you have your electric ring on etc.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. If you're not sure about whether to buy a slow cooker or not, why not look at some of the recipes for them? Here's a site to start you off -

Some recipes and cheaper meat cuts really benefit from the slow cooking...0 -

I dont think I will getting a slow cooker just yet. As I have bought the B/M this month.
