Boddy the kebab made me laugh. I used to have a big fat ginger who I loved dearly. He went half a mile up the road to McDonalds to beg breakfast every morning, and he once knocked a seven year old off her bicycle to nick her crisps. He used to bring us a rabbit most days - and always left just its bottom and tail on the back door mat. Used to get in the shower with me, and he used to sleep in the en suite sink snorning his fat head off. Sadly my XH insisted on keeping him, and I was moving into rented I had little choice but to agree. I was a lot more upset about losing the cat than the divorce :o .

Michelle, that sounds like when I used to visit my late Grandad, he was always buying things he'd never use if they were a bargain, used to send us home with those and his fab pies
    PF love the cake!
Pigpen - as long as it's got a rail, go for it, stick a quilt on the floor or something. DSs are bed wetters as you know and buying them high beds is the biggest mistake I ever made!

Dinner been and gone (had to remove more fluff than usual, must complain to farmers wife for missing so many :rotfl: ), so has cake. DP came home but he's been either on the PC or in his garage so not really here. Dogs fed inc skins etc (no room in freezer for stock so they got all the scrags of meat) DW filled and on, WM filled and on, meat pan soaking and kitchen needs a tidy/clean up. Going to dunk the smelly children in the bath soon after I have done the kitchen then get in myself, weathers cheered up here again, all bright and sunny now, just what I need when I want to get the boys in bed at a decent time.
One day I might be more organised...........

lil-me funny you said that - it is actually from my grandad - he does a fish order - ie he takes orders for a large number of people and gets their fish than delivers it to them. Because they are bulk buying, grandad gets free bags of fishfingers from the fishmonger, and he distributes them to the great grandkids. Dad was desperate for me to take a bag, as they can't eat them as quick as grandad gets them.

the cake is from his wife, who loves making fruitcake, and only my dad eats it, so again, loads spare which would end up in the bin. we love it with custard. yum

:rotfl: Strange isn't it, my Grandad used to make pies and quiches for a local butchers, they used to give him meat for doing them as he'd never accept money (they provided the ingredients) so his freezer was always jam packed with meat, then if he ever spotted a bargain like icecream (even if he never ate it) he'd buy it. When Gran took poorly they had to manage on even less as he had to retire early, he was one of the most frugal people I've ever known, saying that his Mother was too. I remember him turning up at my Dads to stay with a suitcase and a holdall, his things were in the holdall, the suitcase was full of meat :rotfl: Miss my Grandads loads, both of them (the other was the one who always had fish and other seafood like crabs and winkles) treasure them while you still have them x

Mine is devoted to me....she follows me EVERYWHERE like a puppy (would it be TMI if I told you that if I don't close the toilet door properly - and really why would I when home alone? - the cat nudges the door open and tries to sit on my lap )

My dog will follow me in too (I never close the door as it's just me in the house, and the door is sticky & a bug*er to open). She will turn around and try to snuggle her back in between your legs!

AnW's mum - thanks for that suggestion. It's a good one and worth doing. The thing is there's no physical cruelty (apparently if they hit her, SS would go straight in) but it's the mental stuff, telling her she'll have her sectioned, nobody likes her, nobody cares about her etc. as well as the lack of understanding and tolerance of her illness.

The mental abuse is harder to prove so a diary may be the only way.

Love the cake :D A is so jealous!

Question.. my 5.5 year old REALLY wants the top bunk on the new set.. is she too little??? I think she should have the bottom one and my 7 year old have the top ine.. BUT the 7 years old wets the bed and I would REALLY struggle changing sheets up there 4 times a week... so it would be more convenient for me to have DD4 up there as she never wets..

DS is 4 and has got a mid sleeper which is pretty much the same so I'd say go for it!
