I must be a bad mother. We let DD1 sleep in the top bunk just before her 5th birthday, but they are really solid bunks with rails round all sides (IYSWIM) so unless she jumped in her sleep she couldn't roll out. After a couple of months up there she decided she was lonely and so now sleeps in the bottom bunk with her little sister. Still not complaining as they both sleep through the night now finally:D .

Pink just another idea, does GF keep a diray? Might be worth starting one with all the things that she has to do just so that she has evidence to present to SS/GP/NSPCC etc perhaps you and DS could keep one too of all the times she s[ends at your house and your observations of her moods etc

That's the master bedoom finished, had a sort through of my wardrobe/drawers etc etc too to see what's what, my xmas cupboard is filling up nicely with lots of little goodies :T got lots of empty drawers though lol it's a good thing as I'm not big on clutter.

Can't face the bathroom, went and had a look... groaned... and come back out again......the shower rails fallen off, and teenies left allsorts of wonderful delights in there.....he can sort it.

Thinking of having a 'mish mash' for tea, y'know all those half used boxes of stuff .....there's left over mac & cheese from yesterday, and some plain pasta I could bung some sauce and grated cheese on...will see in a minute.

Ooops best get the sheets in.....

    ETA: Gosh PF that's fab!

Sorry, I can't work out how to make it smaller! :o Apparently the black bit is a cheese! :rotfl:The next layer is the actual cake and the towers are made in best "Blue Peter" Fashion. I thought it was pretty amazing. It's a 2nd marriage for both and her 1st was not good, so this really is a fairytale, and she calls my sister her Fairy Godmother.

AnW's mum - thanks for that suggestion. It's a good one and worth doing. The thing is there's no physical cruelty (apparently if they hit her, SS would go straight in) but it's the mental stuff, telling her she'll have her sectioned, nobody likes her, nobody cares about her etc. as well as the lack of understanding and tolerance of her illness.

    Anyway, enough of that (again).

I've 2nd coated the fish tank wall and undercoated the woodwork in the little back hall and I've got 3 loads of washing on the line. I'm going to prepare my stuff for work and then I'll maybe get the ironing done later.

That cake is lovely! :T DH's cousin had a fairy themed cake at her wedding, much better than a plain old traditional one!

Speaking of DH's cousin.... who got married in Febuary.... and swore blind they were not having babies for another few years... guess who is 10weeks pregnant? :j DS1 has been saying she had a baby in her tummy for months!

FLYing this week... not much to be honest. Was a week of madness and distractions, but we do have a shed! DH and his bro had to build a platform for it to sit on after we realised just how much of a slope our garden has. Our front garden also has a chennel dug out! We used it make the raised platform! SO been pricing skips as front garden will be a drive soon, but it has about 25 square meters of soil to be dug out first. I will take pics soon as a before, it's funny, look slike time team has been in!

DH is off Tues, Wed and thurs, then school is off friday so I will make a list fo what needs done and work off that, making most of it up as I go along.

Will catch up on the thread as dinner is cooking.

PF - that is a lovely cake. I wish I could do things like that.

Just caught up on the thread whilst littles watch scrappy challenge pre bath. They have therefore painted half of the living room furniture- fortunately water based paint. They are now cleaning it off with baby wipes.

Michelle - My boys are only 16 months apart, and my lovely DS fell down the stairs (fell over a cat in the dark) and ruptured a disk the day after DS2 was born. He couldn't pick either of them up for six months post op so I had no choice but to cope with looking after both my boys and helping him with no support network at all as we had no friends or family locally. You just have to decide what matters the most to you and prioritise accordingly, it does get better quite quickly. DS1 will probably spend more time watching Barney than you would like though ;) .

Pigpen - I would let her sleep in the top bunk if she is sensible and it has decent guards on it.

SSL - fingers crossed for an offer.

I have a huge list for next week. We are away for a long weekend and one of my sisters is kindly coming to house/cat/dog/fish and chicken sit. The house is literally a building site and I would hate anyone else to see it. DH spent yesterday pointing the now exposed stone wall with lime mortar, and I got to shift 20 rubble sacks of dead plaster out of our bedroom (he still isn't supposed to lift stuff). The mummyfied mouse that fell out of our wall was the absolute highlight of the day for me......

    :hello: Hi everyone.

Had a busy day and just having five minutes. I did all the garden this morning. Cut back the shrubs and weeded. This afternoon Ive painted the door frames upstairs and the two new doors.

My cat Jake has been funny since I changed the furniture around. I used to sit on the sofa but now the armchair is my seat. We practically have to fight or it and before he would not lie on the furniture Jake doesnt fetch much home but I once had a cat that brought a rabbit and also a kebab from someones barbecue. :rotfl:

    Evening

quickly catching up while the roast is cooking and DH is bathing DS1. We've not been in long from mum's - and have been given some of step-grans fruitcake and a big bag with about 40 fishfingers in. I love visiting my parents - you never know what to expect. Lovely time had by all,

jobs to do this week by me or DH:
    • ironing pile to sort and clear
    • change water in 2x lots of flowers
    • make up spare bed for MIL staying next week
    • move some of ds's toys upstairs
    • [STRIKE]talk to J about food options for her 40th wedding anniversary boat cruise[/STRIKE]
    • hoover hall/porch/stairs/landing/bedrooms x3/bathroom
    • put up height chart in DS's room
    • [strike]assemble baby bouncy chair[/strike]
    • [strike]us visit my parents[/strike]
    • brush both cats and check again for fleas, put on a frontline treatment
    • swap bedside light in our room for ds1's, as it has a dimmer switch for less brightness while night feeding
    Extras:
    • washed a load of bibs
    • stripped ds1's wet bed and washed that
    • quick tidy up of nappies etc from through the night
    • remade DS1's bed
    • cut DS1s hair
    • hoovered up mess from hair cut, plus redid the kitchen floor while DH is bathing DS
    • scraped all the food debris from around the chair DS sits on to eat - we have just taken him out of the handysitt booster chair, so there should be less mess now he is sat properly at the table - he looks so grown up now, and he's only 19 months:rolleyes:
pigpen Sam is only 2 weeks old on Tuesday - you seem to have lost a few weeks with your running around. It does get easy to lose track of the days

hex sounds like you had fun. I guess DS1 will soon learn he can't have 100% of my attention. He has coped to now because DH has been home to play with him, but then again he may surprise me and be better when we are alone - i guess you are right - Barney might die a death - it is already driving me loopy.

pink fairy that cake is fab - i wish i had any skill in cake making - my best ones come out of a packet that cooks in the bread maker. Actually, slight porky pie, i can bake but don't really get time to. I suppose i may try and do some more now i am not at work cos it doesn't actually take that long does it.

Anyway - off to turn the meat and stick the potatoes on - i bet Sam wakes for a feed the second the dinner hits the plate - how do they do that?
