It was the doctor that was the cow. We usually see our regular consultant because I refuse to let my DD be an "interesting case" for some junior incompetent numptie. We have taken part in studies and such like.. but today she was there because last week she had an eye infection and this appt was to see if it had cleared up and they booked us in with this cow of a new junior doctor with no manners. And as an experienced hospital visiting mum, I ask questions and question what they do. Me refusing to "sit" at the other side of the room didn't go down well with her. I don't know why I got upset because I got mad and told her I wanted someone else, I am good at complaining and standing up for DD, but I saw DD filling up and if my kids are upset, I go soft and cry with them. She got the nurse who we have known since my DD was diagnosed with sight problems 14 years ago and she looked at DD eye and all was almost ok, just need another week of drops.

Sorry about the life story, I didn't do any flying, I went to aquafit instead and enjoyed it. So now I have to play catch up at the weekend..

Pigpen - so pleased for you and your sister, and big hugs re: uncle. You're so supportive of everyone else, and you're still keeping positive. Lots of healthy vibes coming your way.

MOT - I'd make a complaint! Ask for the Patient's charter and the complaints policy. She might be "Junior" now, so she needs stamping on - very hard!

Soapie - hope toe's feeling much better
JAM - I did notice (but I thought you were hiding from Pigpen!) :hello:

Raph - so pleased about the dog! :j

Anyone else? :hello: to any newbies. ((((hugs)))) to anyone who needs one.

:bdaycake: for tomorrow, Jill, but don't eat it all at once.

Apparently, we're definitely through to the finals. DH was told I'd get an email, but it's not come yet?

Work is carp! I am going to have to do the 7 week prog as well as the 18 and the 22, so really cheesed off. Applied for 9 jobs this week! Also, my boss told me to make enquiries about doing my PTTLS course. Apparently the company will pay the fees, but we have to do it in our own time. Big deal! I work most evenings marking or preparing for the next session. (I suppose I could give up sleep, since I'm having so much trouble with it anyway?) And WAG/local authority pay the fees in any event!!! So - do I really want to do it? No!

Oh well, DS is at GF's with some friends tonight. DD has gone to Chesham to visit her BF, so just DH and me this evening. (He did all the vacuuming today coz he's on leave!:T)

    Evening all.

Just witnessed a dog attacking another dog in the street resulting in some poor old woman (who's dog was being attacked falling over). I think the dog doing the attacking is owned by a police woman. I rang the police call centre to report but whilst nice they say they don't do anything about one dog attacking another cause that's what dogs do. I've never had a dog and never intend to have one either.

I feel quite shook up so I bet the poor owner does too. A neighbour of hers was going to pop in and see her.

Need to have my tea now and then get changed to go to the quiz. It is freezing here and knowing the school the heat will be off so I'm putting thermals and a cardi on cause I'm a wimp.

Dusty, does your local council have a dog warden section? Ours is really good and while its not a police matter, owners should keep control over their dogs. And where was the owner at this point?

yes police said to ring dog warden on Monday - the ower was chasing the attacking dog and her large german shepard which was also in pursuit. She caught that one and stuffed it in the boot of the car and finally managed to get the other dog after it ran across the road - it might have bitten her. I was so not impressed (sorry to all of you dog lovers but since being bitten by a dog as a child I have no time for dogs unless they are under complete control and nowhere near me)

Oh Dusty, I am sorry. Obviously from my avatar, you'll see I'm a dog lover. But I believe in dogs being properly trained. A bit like children I suppose. Some parents/owners let their children/dogs do whatever they like and thats not good for anyone  dogs or children

Dusty, it's a tricky one, if the woman was injured then the police I think should have attended. Dog wardens can advise on control etc. As for dogs fighting, the same as cats really, all animals fight. My Megan is fear aggressive (vet seems to think that is why suddenly she's became aggressive after being attacked) and if a dog comes near she will attack it, hence I keep her on the lead if there are other dogs around. Her recall is still perfect so I have no issues getting her back onto the lead if one comes near. Witnessing dogs fighting isn't a nice thing, witnessing anything fighting isn't nice, I was picking up cat fur last week after 2 were trying to kill each other in my garden I screamed at them and they didn't even notice so went and got a bucket of water as they woke the boys up. I'm fearful of small dogs after being attacked in the past and cats as one jumped from a tree onto my face when I was in my teens clawing my face, arm and chest (police did nothing as it was a cat which annoyed my parents of course) so know what you mean. Hopefully the woman is ok.
mumoftwo well done for standing your ground, you can put a formal request asking not to be seen by that doctor again.
    ((hugs)) for SSL :)
PinkFairy ((hugs)) sounds like a not very nice time at work for you, fingers crossed something comes of the applications
Shell just incase you wondered the smallest one is DS1 (he's 9) and DS2 is the tallest (he's 7) and butter would burn!

:D DS1 has a referal for OT!!!! Up until this year it was not allowed for children with ASD and I think he's one of the first to have a referal accepted and get an appointment, really pleased.

Dinner for me and DS1 is cooking, DP took dinner to work and DS2 ate when he got in. Need to get washer filled up with uniforms, finish dinner and clear away after then I'm about done for the day, a lazy night in with some studying mixed in sounds good to me. I might file some paperwork depending how I feel and how cold it is in the conservatory, someone has stolen the sunshine :( it's really cold here.
One day I might be more organised...........

A quick dash in and out - looked at the thread earlier then got called away - have a few minutes now.

Pigpen - what an up and down scenario - big hugs to you all.
Dusty - that must have been quite nasty to watch
SSL - I'm sorry if my casting out of the demon toe basher ended up your way! Toe is still sore but am not limping quite so much and did manage shoes most of the afternoon.

And hugs to everyone else who needs them

Have been next door to see nice neighbour who's coming on hol with me tomorrow (and we had a couple of gins  ).

Then came back and did a panic trawl through my paperwork files because I couldn't find the confirmation letter which said where the keys were etc. It wasn't where I expected it to be. It wasn't where I didn't expect it to be - it's in one of those 'safe places' that are so safe, no-one knows where it is! Fortunately the cottage we're renting is direct from the owner rather than a holiday firm so I was able to phone the owner up and confirm the details - phew!

So, we're planning to start loading the car at 10am tomorrow morning (I have to put the roof rack on first!) and hit the road around 10.30 with the aim to get to Worcestershire at a leisurely pace and stop off for lunch by about 3.00-3.30pm unless of course the scheduled rain is so bad, we decide just to get there as soon as possible!
