Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 11th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning.
I have to go to work in a minute or 2. As I am the only one in the office, I guess it does not really matter what time I get there. I think early as I want to leave early.
It's been a busy weekend, with late nights and early starts. At least I can look forward to a bit of fishing next week!
So far I think this is the best start to the year garden wise. Bit dry perhaps, but the veggies are all nicely growing and all in line with no missing spaces. The bees are buzzing and nice a strong and starting to make honey. The new chickens are now laying. The ducks are sitting.
The egss in the icubator are on day 7 and looking good. You can see the embryo forming inside now and the veins appearing in the albumen. Quite chuffed.
With lettuce 90p each in ASDA, you got to try something!
Well best get showered and head off....
Cheers

Good morning N9eav and all who follow. It's virtually unheard of that I manage to post this high up the first page!!!
We're up and at it and getting ready to go to a car boot, then taking a friend out to pick some furniture up as our car is bigger than hers-so it should fit.
I went with one of my DDs yesterday, round town and rummaged through the charity shops (other DD won't do that as it ruins her street cred!!!).
Went out for a lovely meal last night with OHs family.
It's a beautiful day over in the west Midlands at the mo and I hope it stays that way.
(((((((hugs))))))) to all who need or want one..

very dull and damp here at the moment which is good news. OH is running a half marathon today and I don't think he would manage it in the heat. although I hope it doesn't rain as it did last year and I got soaked standing around for 2 hours waiting on him to cross the finish line.
going to a birthday tea later. I'm on puddings and will be cheating later at Asdax x x0 -
Morning all,
I've been hovering waiting for someone to start the thread, after yesterday's fiasco I didn't dare try again.
Lovely sunny day here, I watered the pots at 5am, our garden is south facing and has no shade apart from the awning the DH fitted yesterday. Sat out there and had my coffee watching 2 squirels playing hide and seek.
Have dug out some turkey I had vacume sealed and frozen, left over from xmas, so DH has a roast turkey dinner, I fancy a salad so not much cooking today. Must get some ironing done and finish a prem baby hat.
Hope it's a painfree day for everyone.0 -
Morning all
Looks like yet another beautiful morning here tooMust think about putting some washing on. Another day of studying ahead but getting there.... Hope others studying are doing ok as well. Despite being child-free I'm awake early as always, so think I will go downstairs & open up the french doors shortly. Too beautiful to stay in bed
Am feeling motivated at the moment (sure it will wear off, lol).
((((smokey, penpin, candygirl, mrsmix)))) and all others needing them.
Betheebee - you should have started itThere's always someone to help if you get stuck!!! Hope you aren't suffering too much today?
TNG - morning gorgeous :kisses3:
Hope everyone else is doing ok, will pop back later I'm sure.....!!Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning all
Looks like the start of a glorious day here in Kent too - there's a lovely breeze blowing in through the patio doors at the moment that smells of the sea.
N9eav - I noticed the price of lettuce yesterday - amongst the many things that have shot up again.
Off to the beach this morning, after a trawl around a bootfair - going to pack a picnic and the bucket and spades and make the most of this lovely weather......going to a localish beach that's really safe for swimming and miles and miles of golden sand.
Currently following a yeast free diet to try and restore my good/bad yeast levels as I seem to be very bloated and headachey at the moment - really vile mood swings too. Need to stay on it for 1 month  Trying to focus on what I can eat rather than what I can't eat but it's hard when you get a sugar craving! The good news is I can eat soda bread (as long as it's made with natural yoghurt) as there's no yeast in it - the small amount of sugar isn't too bad either (bit of a bread fiend normally). Not had a glass of wine for 3 weeks either -where's the angelic smiley when you need it!
Managed to loose 6lbs using my wii fit and swimming 3 times a week, in the past 2 weeks and everything is looking much more toned....long may it last.
Dinner tonight will be a plain chicken and veg stir fry with egg noodles, roasted 2 chickens last night so will just strip some meat up once the veg is cooked.
Hope you all have a lovely day and enjoy the weather if you're lucky enough to have it."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
morning all
had quite a bit of rain yesterday which has watered the plants in nicely, my pepper seeds are through that i took from a ripened red pepper so that saved a bit of money, potted up my tom thumbs too, the council planted out a lot of tom thumbs with variegated leaves last year in tubs so i got quite a lot of seed off them while out walking
hugs to smoky, penny-pincher, mrsmix, catznine

Morning all,
Mrs Mix, I’m so sorry to hear that your Dad had a bad day yesterday. ((Hugs))
Smoky, thinking of you and hope you’re doing ok.
tired mum, it’s great to see you posting again…If being OS was a requirement for posting, I’d have been kicked off here years ago. We all have times when we feel like it and times when we don’t. ((hugs))
Essex-girl, I hope things get better for you and Essex-boy soon. x
Jayward, So sorry to hear that you were in hospital. Try to rest as much as you can today. We’ll be thinking of you tomorrow.x
Catznine, I’m sorry to hear that work is getting you down at the moment. xx
Shez, I hope your and dd’s colds feel better today.
Ivyleaf, I’m glad to see your mum is getting the help she needs now.
JayJay and Oddjobkia, welcome!
Pooky, good to see you posting again.
Tru, the little piggies look adorable!
Pen Pen, the pic you posted of Aussie beautifying herself yesterday couldn’t have been a true likeness….it described her as a ‘young’ woman!
Just a quick post from me this morning because I’m running late for work. The sun is shining though so it feels good to be up and about. Dd stayed with a friend last night and ds1 is at scout camp this weekend so it’ll be a quiet house today with only ds2. I should be at work until about 2 o’clock then I’m free for the rest of the day. :j Hopefully I'll get some time in the garden to plant up the baskets and window boxes.
Even though I’ll be home this evening, Mr Pink has promised to cook dinner because he bottled it last night and ordered a takeaway so he's making roast pork, roast potatoes, spinach, carrots and broccoli. Truth be told, I know I’ll do my usual thing and prabably take over. Is it any wonder the poor man can’t cook?
Catch up with you all later…hope you all have a lovely relaxing Sunday.

Morning folks,
Couldn't sleep last night, so been up since 5am or there abouts.
To pass the time, I have done the ironing, washed the kitchen floor, and checked my lottery numbers, won nothing! there is a suprise.
Not dressed as such yet, and want to go outside and wander around the garden, but I know if I go back upstairs to get clothes to wear, I'll wake 'him' up, so guess I'll just have to wander around these forums for a bit.

Good Morning Everyone! Beautiful day here in Essex. WM on, BM on and tea bewing in the pot! We have a busy day at Church today, but I still have some sorting out to get done in the spare bedroom, so hope my motivation holds out! Last night's concert was lovely - early Church music - but I weakened and purchased a CD!
Hope Mr Dogrose enjoys his run today.
Am slowly catching up with all the threads I missed whilst the laptop was down. ((HUGS)) to all who need one today.Resolution:
