With all due respect, have you not seen all the posts on here regarding the pitfalls of setting up a Recurring Payment using your credit card, as well well as the advice on the subject by Marttin:eek:. You should ALWAYS use direct debit through your bank as YOU have full control, not the supplier.
Thank you. I set it up quickly at a time of high personal stress when I knew I would be making a lot of phone calls and needed to save money and I wasn't thinking straight. I have change it to a direct debit on my bank account.0 -
we joined 18185 4 days ago, spent £1.41 on calls.
today they had auto message on us, saying
"you have exceeded your limit" "please try again in few days.
is this correct ?0 -
I am having a problem with 18866, they keep telling me to contact customer services - BUT HOW????????????????????
Cannot find a number (apart from the one to get your customer number from them) or an email address!!!! (Latest email from them saying please contact us ASAP).
I am getting seriously worried, they are saying my payment on my debit card has not gone through, there is a problem (not my end, I have funds!!!!) and to send money over my internet Bank account. Am not prepared to do that, have I been hacked?????
P.S. Have full security on my computer, ta to AVG!!!0 -
That sort of thing happens occasionally and the way out of it is to make a BACS payment to their bank account to clear the balance. It is risk-free.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=5603177&postcount=204Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I adore 18185, been using for 5 years now, great for international, premium rates and UK rates free afte 4 or 5p connection. Cannot beat it, confirm if you set up DD and do not use for 6 months in my case, its your bank who suspend the payments not the company.0

Currently changing bank accounts using new bank's switching service - new DD is set up with new bank, also details show as correct on 18185 web site;old bank account DD is cancelled (presumably by 18185 because I didn't cancel) BUT this morning I notice that 18185 have tried to take payment from old bank account!! Any way of contacting them? Can't see any route when I'm logged into my 18185 account.0

You have to use their FAULT reporting system (i.e. work the system to get a message to them).
1. Go to www.18185.co.uk
2. Click on Contact on the right just under the header
3. Click the here link at the top left of the next page
4. Click the Report a fault button and then click Next at the bottom of the page
5. Fill in your account number and email address and click Proceed
6. Click on Charges/Payment
7. Click on Another Payment Problem
8. Use the form to get your message over (the Please describe the fault free text box is the one to use here, even though it doesn't seem to fit the circumstances).
That's worked a number of times for me (even when not reporting a telephony fault).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Thanks Heinz - I actually found it about an hour ago.....the crazy thing is that you have to go thru this rigmarole from the main web site -there seems absolutely no way to report anything when you are actually logged in to your own account!!!0

No reply to my message yet, altho I got acknowledgement almost immediately.
Any one know how much "grace time" you get when 18185 still works after a failed payment??0
