I have BT line, Primus Saver 2 and use 1899, 18185 and hop back to BT (via 1280) as recommended elsewhere in the forum.

Two things I'm not sure about -
    1. Should I prefix 0800 (and other freephone numbers) with 1280?
    2. Is there now any difference between 1899 & 18185 for calling 01/02 numbers on weekdays?

I'd be grateful for an update. Thanks

I had my first bill from primus today, only went active on the 14th of this month and it was for 12p? Any idea why, thought it was completely free?

    Cheers

    Free evening weekend calls.

Maybe for some reason you used it at another time I know I did when I used a few dialup accounts to keep them active.

Total bill = 0.46p, I am sure not going to worry about that amount compared to the long list of calls made during evening and weekend.

    (1) Yes - because Primus charged for 0800 calls last year in error. Although those who complained quickly got their money back, 1280 prevents the possibility.

    (2). No. 5p per call.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    Hi,

I have checked 18899 call rates, link below:-

    http://www.1899.com/index2.php

In the corner of the page it says UK fixed lines 0.0 !!. Are calls from 18899 to UK fixed lines are free from 18899?

    Thanks

Its 1899 and yes they are free to 01/02 numbers but there is a connection charge of 5p so this is all you pay no matter how long you are on the phone for.
