For the last week or so with 18185 I get a really bad static noise burst where the cost message should be, it connects and i get through no problem though!
Anyone else had this?0 -

I've just signed up to 18185 for my home (BT) and mobile (Orange) phones. I've been trying to call a friend in Turkey via her mobile, and in both instances I'm getting a recording telling me that the number I'm calling is not a fixed line or mobile number and is not on offer - whereupon I'm left with the dial tone. How can I get the same message across two different providers? Is anyone else having this problem, or am I the only person being singled out here (which is what it feels like)? Sorry - don't mean to sound paranoid ....0

Is the mobile you're trying to call a UK one which just happens to be roaming in Turkey at the moment or is it a Turkish one?
In either case, what exactly are you dialling (use a couple of stars in place of a couple of the later digits so no idiot calls)?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

The phone is a Turkish one, and upon further investigation, I've discovered that I inserted an extra zero - doh!!
I now feel a complete idiot - stand down the troops, I now know there is definitely not a nationwide conspiracy against me (for the moment)!!0 -
I am thinking of signing up with 18185 for daytime calls.
Am I right saying it will only cost 5p for one hour, or is there a connection charge as well.
I have a BT phone line.
Or is there another prefix number that is any cheaper.
I am talking 01 & 02 numbers. Very low use.0 -

In fact 5p for how ever long you are on the phone, not restricted to one hour.0

Thank you for reply.
No wonder I was having trouble finding the one hour thing.
Bargain or what?
Why did it ever take me so long to think about signing up to 18185.0
