Mouth watering stuff. I do ency you the pepper plant. OH normally grows peppers but couldn't find any plants this year and left it a bit late for seeds..........he tried chillis from seed and they were doing ok till something ate them !!
Still, everything else is doing ok and we've strawberries ripening daily
I've already taken 4 lovely red peppers off of it already. I think that is the last one unless I get a second crop off of it but I'm not sure if I will. It is hot enough though so I may.
It is anoyying when something you take the time to grow is eaten. I had the dog rip stuff up but he's learnt not to do that or use my patch as a toilet now. I may not have to put the fence up which will be nice :).
Oo strawberries. I can not get enough of them. I have one to many runners though so am giving at least one of the plants off of it to my naighbour (sp?) and she is going to give me some of hers as we believe we have different veriaties lol :T . I'm most likely going to pick up another of the same planters my strawberries are in. They are down to £10 in Wilkinsons now from £14.99 so worth it. I've fitted in 3 strawberry plants into the middle one (could fit two more I think) and should fit 8-10 into the bottom part :j . I'm planing to put basket varieties of tomatoes into the top of the tierd planter next year :). They save on space SOO much.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D

    Hi Hathor

Thanks for the welcome, I wish I had found this site earlier though, but never mind.
No one in my family is really that green fingered, my dad did have an allotment about 30 odd years ago and both my mum and dad have a little knowledge about the garden.
I love growing my own, I plan to do a lot more like fruit.
The problem I have is I have no garden as such at the moment as it is all dug up for an extension so I have all my pots and stuff on my side patio.
I have been allowed to put a plot in at the inlaws and I have loads of pots round there as well.
When ever I get in to talking about growing my own I get excited, I am the same for cooking and cooking pots.
A bit like going mad on bags, hand bags and shoes for which I love too. hehehe
Does any one else get excited?:j

Mary43 - If you want peppers in future, save the seeds from the commercial ones you buy in a supermarket. Just dry them out on a sheet of tissue paper and store in a small paper bag or a scrap of newspaper. Like seeds from tomatoes, you can virtually guarantee they will germinate. Chilli seeds can be saved and germinated in the same way.

You can def put some carrots in and at this time of year you can sow salads and chinese salads like pakchoi.
You don't generally need to start them indoors at this time of year, should be warm enough outside - I wish!
The garden centres might still have a few growing veg to buy (reduced!). I'm looking out for sweetcorn plants as mine haven't done tooo well this year
Just call me Nodwah the thread killer
