Not much at the minute I know, and this wet weather is not getting me any further, dug over half of one bed at the top on Wednesday and it has rained ever since,

It had better perk up, Ive ordered 30 aspragus to put in there, I think I was a bit hasty!!!

none of the sheds or grren houses are mine :(

Apparently both apple trees are prolific, and the bramble at the bottom is a cultivar, but it has gone wild (to say the least!)

Cultivars of strawberries grow wild on the pathway and into the allotments
The sign of a wasted life is a tidy house, Welcome to the chaos!

Your photos are great loved the comments about random seeds unsure what you planted where. I tried this year to grow from seed and did exactly the same did not have a clue what was planted where. In the end it did not matter cause they all died off!! I now have an empty 3 tier thingy. But my potatoes are doing fine along with broccoli and sprouts which were purchased as plants.

I am using saved wooden stirrer-thingies from coffee shops as FOC plant labels (One or two "spares" might have accidentally jumped into my bag last times I was in Tesco's, now I come to think of it!); if you have kids, (or like ice lollies) the ever-popular lolly stick is ideal.

It only takes a moment or two to pop one in, and particularly if you have more than one variety of say, tomatoes, it's invaluable to know which needs staking (vine-type) and which is self-supporting (bush-type) or if plants have different feeding or watering requirements.

Don't think I'm preaching: I planted peas & beans together in one of my containers without labelling, and have only been able to tell them apart since the different leaf shapes became apparent, so I've learned the hard way.

Yeah it didn't become clear what they were until they grew a bit more... I did have an odd one though, it turned out to be a weed! :rotfl:

My 3 tier thing is nearly empty now, really want to fill it up again...

Please can someone tell me: are you supposed to pinch out the growing tip of vine tomatoes (ie not bush or hanging ones) when the plant has four lots of flowers or buds, or only when it has four lots of baby tomatoes?

My furthest-advanced tomato plant (a lot behind you folks, to be sure, but only planted recently) has four lots of flowers showing, but only a single baby tomato as yet. Do I leave it for now, or should I get pinching to help it convert the other flowers to fruit?

I'm feeding it once a week, by the way.

Garlic, blueberries, pots with mange tout and salad and small pots with figs and lemons ( won't stay in them for long)

I like my flowers too so a lot mixed in with the veg and fruit - annoys DH!

I hate cutting teh grass so it's always a bit untidy looking.

Nodwah: you mean figs and lemons can go outside?

I knew you get lemon trees to grow and even fruit in pots, but I sort of assumed that would be strictly greenhouse/conservatory only, ie under glass and heated in the winter.

Can they really cope on the patio?

Not sure if I'm amazed or bewildered!!
