I use a bit of vaseline or some saddle soap - both are oily and just as clean as baby oil, and a very thin veneer keeps any metal bright and new.0

I use a dry microfibre cloth to dry it off after cleaning and then the baby oil if I want it to look super shinyI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Right, I believe you lot and will pick up some baby oil. But if I get odd looks and hear murmurings about the oldest swinger in town, you'll all be for it!:rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

Hi
I hope someone can help! I looked for the answer to this on previous posts but coudn't find it!!
I have stainless steel accessories in my bathroom eg. Bin, toilet roll holder etc. However they have got some water marks on them and i've tried everything to get them off! My family are coming over on Tuesday so I really wanted to have the house looking spotless for them!!
Any ideas of what to use to get rid of these marks and get it shining again?
Thanks!!:D0 -
I've successfully used a bit of olive oil on my kitchen bin / microwave / breadbin - works a treatIt's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission0

baby oil is the answer only a little but it comes up like a dream !0

I'll second the baby oil idea, but recently in Home Bargain I bought some Mr Sheen Stainless Steel wipes and they are fantastic. They really get all the marks off and the SS doesn't seem to get that film on it that you sometimes get with the baby oil. I know its not really OS but I did find them great - I have a big stainless steel hole in the wall fireplace and it is a pain to keep clean.Jane

baby oil works a treat, a little goes a long way though, wipe it over the stainless steel with kitchen towel then use a dry piece to buff, this takes all water marks off and brings it up lovely n shinyproper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0
