I use olive oil rather than baby oil as it is next to my cooker. It works fine

This has worked a treat on my stainless steel American fridge freezer, cooker hood and ovens! Thank you sooooooooo much!!

I did try the baby oil but that didn't quite as well but I will try it again.

I've just cleaned the inside of my microwave with a paste of bicarb and lemon juice, and the outside with baby oil and it looks as nice as when it was new! Thanks to whichever lovely MSE'ers started me off on this OS business!!

How do you best clean stainless steel goods in the kitchen. It's a matt stainless steel on a washing machine and dishwasher doors. Also how do you clean a shiney stainless steel on a cooker without the streaks. I've tried special cleaners but to no avail.
    Thanks.

Buy an e-cloth. Best thing around for giving smear-free finish.
  • Baby oil works well too, but use sparingly.

Clean with Bar Keeper's Friend (can purchase in most supermarkets), rub in Baby Oil and buff off.

Works a treat - it's what all the professionals use apparently!

There is a product called Shiny Sinks. It's in a blue bottle, and I get it from Robert Dyas. Use a little bit as per instructions and the steel comes out marvellous. You need to shake the bottle well before use.

Taps, sink, pans, anything in steel. Well worth the money IMHO.

    :)

I use microfibre cloths. 1 damp to wipe the SS and 1 dry to buff up-works perfectly each time. Also use on the hob etc.
