Aaaah, when I was but a young lass, there was a recreation ground near our school (probably still is) where they had an annual fair. My brother and I and a couple of friends used to race up the morning after it closed and could usually pick up what was, to us, a fortune.

I found 20p in coppers scattered around the kids bedroom last night. It's gone into the penny pot as revenge for me having to sort their room out as they wouldn't do it themselves :D

Reminds me of the times when I find coins rattling round the washing machine at the end of a load, because the husband and kids have forgotten to empty their pockets.

I tell them that the Washing Fairy says "thanks for the tips". (Alternatively I should save it towards paying the washing machine repair man next time another odd bit of shrapnel nobbles the drum.)

Sounds like your house might have a Tidy Up Fairy, moggins. :D

clothes.... we've always found a lot of clothing bit disconcerting really i mean WHY do you find one shoe somewhere!

actually there is a pair of pants in a lightly wooded area that we pass by daily... somehow i've managed to resist the urge to pick those up LOL

i did pick up some school trousers before and a really nice gap sweatshirt. i'd left both hanging off a post for a week, no one claimed them so they went home, got washed and sold on ebay

we've found fivers and tenners at least once a year or more for the 7 years i've been here. i always find pennies and tuppences, just picked one up yesterday in fact

actually we once found an obviously discarded buggy (stuffed in a hedge, broken wheel, had been there a week) it had buggy board on it that we were considering removing to sell on ebay. we then noticed the buggy board had two £20 notes stuffed into the grid formation on the back of it! we were so skint at that time we took the money and thanked the heavens!

we also find all kinds of furniture including our current comfy chair and dining room table.

and i always keep my eyes peeled for empy irn bru or other barrs brand bottles as they're worth 20p each and i find at least one a week.

i find areas near schools are very good for loose change... i've seen the little beggars throwing change at each other then leaving it, tsk tsk

I've decided that I am heading out to one of my local streets at 6am on Sunday morning. There are so many bars in that street that traffic is actually banned from them on a Saturday and Sunday night. I could make a fortune picking up all the loose change dropped by drunks. :D

and don't forget you'll never need to buy another pint glass in your life either! in glasgow i would find pint glasses nowhere near a pub... more like halfway down a street from them...

I constantly find coins of all denominations. My fiance jokes I am a money magnet (shame its not mass moneys lol).

The best I have found is a 50 pounds note in the street once. Just off a busy footfall part of the high street. nobody around.... came in very handy because at the time I was skint. I fully expected it to be fake but it wasnt ;)

Found 20quid note last week on pavement. fiver this week. 4 bottles of stella all properly sealed and new in a sainsbury bag at the bus stop. I find alot of this stuff at bus stops or nearby. guess people just arent careful enough anymore....

The weirdest thing was a solitaire style ring. took to the cops who gave it back after a few mths unclaimed. Never had it checked to see if its glass or diamond though. Prolly not worth much anyways but feel sorry for the person who lost it!

Here dead we lie because we did not choose

irn bru or other barrs brand fizzy drinks give you 20p back if you bring back their glass bottles

i don't know that glass bottles are that common in england anymore but they're everywhere in scotland

you pay for the deposit when you buy the drink, it's included in the price so there's no point NOT bringing the bottle back!
