Just before Christmas I found a debit card on the ground. It was in a car park and I nearly drove over it! Although the car park was full I couldn't see anyone nearby who might have dropped it.
I bank with the same bank and was actually on my way to visit the branch anyway.
When I handed it in, I received a £10 reward, which was most unexpected. I'd just felt sorry for the poor soul who'd dropped the card, and was relieved it hadn't fallen into less honest hands than mine!
(I paid the tenner straight in and it's still there now)"By not unsettling men, you will reassure them. By unsettling men either through timidity or malice, you are always compelled to keep a knife in hand." - Niccolo Machiavelli, 1469-15270 -
Rubber bands that the Rm habitually drops
£3.50 in a trolley
A full unopened packet of cigarettes
A £5 note frozen inside a lump on ice in the park, which was dried on the radiator
A full bottle of ecover fabric conditioner on the already paid side of the tills
Various coins (im going to start counting and collecting them to see how much I find!)
Half a pack of rolling tobacco stuffed behind the sofa in a student house
Im going to try finding something every day, its so fun!

caffeinehit wrote:How does the receipt points thing work? Presumably I take the receipts to customer services and they add the points to my loyalty card? Is there a time limit?
(I've only got a Clubcard btw)
Just take the receipt and your club card to the Customer Services and ask them to put the points on for you. They'll do it no questions asked
Think the time limit is around a week, but I'm not certain.Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
My son was asked to submit a piece of art on something he'd found on the ground for an exhibition in New York last year. He chanced upon a bright yellow plastic tray from a child's pushchair on which he produced a street sweeper sweeping up a very unhappy-looking child. He sent it to NY and it sold within an hour of being put on display for $50. It made his day!0

It was HSBC.
The cashier gave me a form to sign and asked me for my name and address. I thought this was just for their records, but then she said, "and sign here to say you've received your £10 reward" :j It was a nice surprise for me, but she said I had saved them the time and expense of sorting out a lost or stolen card. So I signed it and added "Merry Christmas" !
Sounds like you're very eagle eyed, Jo, so here's hoping you turn up some more treasure!"By not unsettling men, you will reassure them. By unsettling men either through timidity or malice, you are always compelled to keep a knife in hand." - Niccolo Machiavelli, 1469-15270 -

Its a month in Tescos but sometimes they 'll still put them on after that. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

I have found a couple of bikes which have been handed in to the police then I 've claimed them.A nice handbag which had obviously been stolen then dumped also handed into the police then claimed, quite a few twenty pound notes, always picking up coins also say "find a penny..." a beautiful antique shirt, wellington boots, money that people have dropped in front of me - always let them know, cash point cards still in the machine and money still in the machine as the person walks away have to call after them!!! A cockatel on hampstead heath!!!! Took it to the animal shelter as had cats and didn't fancy that but he was lovely. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

I once found a rabbit. Wasn't allowed to keep him, so we took him to an animal shelter
I haven't found anything lately not even a penny.Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
I have found over the last 6 months.
A next poncho just the right size for my daughter.
A credit card. I took it back to the bank were it was issued )
Elastic Bands the red ones the post man leaves. I have a rather big rubber band ball now.
On the subject of Royal Mail i heard they are putting stamps up by 2p. Maybe dropping less rubber bands and reuseing them would save them alot of money.0
