How does the receipt points thing work? Presumably I take the receipts to customer services and they add the points to my loyalty card? Is there a time limit?

(I've only got a Clubcard btw)

Sainsburys I believe is 7 days.

    I once found a £10 in a carpark.

Cannot tell you how much I love this thread!!

Have picked up the odd penny and there are always elastic bands outside, left by the postie... no wonder stamps are going up!

But when I first saw the thread it reminded me of my older brother! When we were kids he used to always dissappear in clothes shops underneath all the rails and come back with a really hairy sweet... pick off a couple pf hairs and then eat it!!!
Whats still funny is my mum recently took two of my brothers for a game of golf and my older brother found a can of coke which he drank as they walked around the course!

Don't worry he isn't normal and so feels perfectly comfortable doing things like this!:D
oooh look only about 220 posts and I got round to doing my Avatar already!!

Ooooh just remembered...few years ago I found a pair of new-looking walking boots near the top of Whernside in the Three Peaks. Could not understand how they came to be left there! Were they just soooo uncomfortable?? How did the poor soul get down cos it's not as if you usually carry a spare pair of boots! Didn't take them though. :A Always wondered how they came to be left there.....

Only last week I was recycling at Sainsbury's, and the very full skip for cardboard had two hard-backed cookery books visible in line with the slots. I furtively pulled them out, (like you do :o) , and swiftly put them into the carrier bag I had brought my own rubbish in. I dithered around for ages, sneakily trying to inspect them, and finding they were somewhat grubby at the page edges. Also there were loads of people around and I was embarrassed.

Anyway I decided eventually to put them back in the skip. They weren't mine to keep, and I didn't know their background. One was Pressure Cooker recipes, the other (more interesting but also more scruffy) was 1000 Recipes. If no-one had been around I'd have torn out the most interesting sections of that one! All the time, going through my mind was "what would other MSE'rs do?" ;)

Apart from that and a soaking wet, obviously dead mobile phone, plus the usual small change, I don't have much luck.

I did investigate a sports bag stuffed in a pub carpark's hedge the other day, which seemed to contain someone's swimming gear, including shower gel etc. I took it to the pub door, intending to tell them in case anyone came looking for it, but to my embarrassment the pub wasn't open yet, so I had to leave it on the step, and must have looked most suspicious as I slunk away.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

  • I used to find quids, fivers and tenners when I was a wee urchin. Why is it I'm not blessed with a good find these days? Is it coz I'm now 5ft7" from the ground (not levetating, lol) and not 3ft" tall? lol. Maybe it's coz I sit in an office all day. The last time I found a fiver was at the bar on the floor. It must have been a cheap thrill for the guys who saw up my mini skirt, so it was smiles all round. :rotfl:Bought myself a couple of drinks with it. lol.

I noticed a woman passing a store in the High Street the other day to pick up a coin, turned out to be a £1 coin, someone had glued it to the ground, just at the entranceway to the shop. The number of people who stopped to pick it up. I've been caught out myself with 50p once. Perhaps we should all have a paint scraper in our bags so we can scuff the coins glued to pavements off the ground. Last thing I picked up was £1 that was stuck in the trolley bay locker at Tesco, oh and a tenner outside a bookstore in town. Few pence here and there on a daily basis.
