I have DD2 trained to pick up pennies as she's closer to the ground
She found 20p in 5p pieces last week. I'll miss her when she starts school
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

When I first saw this thread I though euegh that disgusting. I have never picked up anything other than money. There have always been things left on the ground such as hairslides where I live but I am not sure if I can pick things up will try.All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0

My daughters are constantly looking out for coins when we're out and about but very rarely find any - must be the area we live in!
Eldest quite good at noticing money off vouchers though - found £1 off velvet toilet roll lying in a totally different aisle in Tescos once. They pool their finds in a little tub and share them out at the end of the month.
Didn't think about receipts for points though we'll have to keep an eye out for them!0 -
Odd coins which all get thrown in the money box (if ever embarassed about picking up money I mumble "see a penny pick it up & all day long you'll have good luck" so that people think I am a bit barmy instead of broke. And I often adapt it to other things if I feel embarassed. Maybe I actually AM a bit barmy?:rotfl:)
Hair scrunchies
A camera (we handed this in)
A fleece (up Snowdon, can't imagine whoever left it was going to climb back up for it;))
A baby Einstine toy
A gold necklace (in a changing room in BHS, the assistant wasn't interested in taking it in case it was claimed:eek:)
A malachite ring
A £20 note (well, it was Kensington High Street and it was 10 years ago now!)
A £10 note (behind a wrought iron fence, had to go home & get a broom to be able to reach it:rotfl:)
Used soda cans (Hubby collects these & takes for recycling & gets paid by the black sack)
Plastic bottle tops (Local womens institute is saving them to recycle & get a wheelchair for local hospice)
Does anyone else often find coins in the reject slots of car park machines & phone boxes? I do:D Or am I the only one tight enough to always check the reject slots in the first place?:rotfl:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
I once found Paula Abdul took her home and she sang at my Dads 50th (very handy).0

I always check too. And I'm going to find out if someone round here is collecting bottle tops. And stamps come to think of it. Good to do a good deed and all that!
Love the story about the broom handle. That sounds so like something I would do.
I found £40 in a theatre earlier this year. I handed it in and the woman looked at me as if I was crazy. I gave her my details but never heard anything. She was raising her eyebrows and sighing like she was just going to bin my address the minute I walked away. I wonder if she pocketed it or if someone claimed it. I hope the latter, but if she took it at least it's her conscience not mine! :rolleyes:May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Oh is better at finding things than me.Once he found a caravan stabilizer at the side of the motorway.
DD found 2 £5 notes on her birthday.
I find odd small coins all the time.Just before last christmas I found a book of 1st class stamps with only one missing, then at easter I saw another stamp book and said to my DD 'cant happen twice' and picked it up to find 6 1st class stamps.
When I built this PC,I was going to save up for a monitor and saw 2 put out with the rubbish outside a shop. They said 'take them' and they both worked.0 -

No one drops pennies around here anymore! Saw one in the pub on Friday night, but owing to the smell around there, I hate to think what was on it so left well alone!!
Tesco receipts that others drop with valuable points on are my favourite - next to cash obviously!
scuzz, funnily enough i saw loads of receipts outside sainsburys and thought of picking them up, but felt too embarrassed. but i kept thinking all those points waisted.0
