I have noticed recently that I have developed a habit of picking up things I've found on the ground that are perfectly fine to use. Here's what I've found so far this month:
A handkerchief
2 pens
2 pencils
A clothespeg
8 pence
A carrier bag (used as a bin liner.)
My friend also found a whole book of 12 stamps and I recently also found a whole bag of bananas on a bench. Has anyone else found usable stuff lately?

May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

Recently I have found a whole book (6) of Saver Tickets for London Buses. They cost £1 each. Incidentally, for all of you using London transport facilities, Saver Tickets are ideal for the odd journey now and then as they are valid forever and you save 20p on an ordinary cash ticket. A bus pass is cheaper if you do more than 3 bus journeys.
In the past I found a Parker Pen, a £10 note twice, today I found a 1 euro coin (well I do travel to Europe quite often).Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Hello Gingham,
:T I adore this idea for a thread! Right up my street, if you pardon the pun!
Recently found on the ground:
-a money off coupon - promptly got used in Asda!
-a bucket - now used in the kitchen to store newspapers, cans, etc for recycling
-a single yellow line!!!! Found on Friday while walking the kids home from school. It seems that the yellow paint had come unstuck from the road, so eldest son picked it up and put it outside our house for a laugh. Totally illegal, I'm sure, and don't worry we will move it by Monday morning. But as eldest son reasoned, if a policeman came to the door and accused us of stealing a yellow line, we could just say, "Why, that's impossible!" :rotfl:
- a total of £48 in cash over the past year; yes we do keep records and yes most of it was in pennies
- gents watch, found on the road, looked like it had been run over! Police let us keep that one as it's only a cheapy one. My husband replaced the strap as it was broken and has worn it every day for six months so far!

Went to a rugby match last weekend and right in the middle of the pavement, future SIL and I found a five pound note! We used it to buy a drink each - as there were no other people around at the time.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0

A couple of years ago I won a 'Formula Ford Race Track Day' for hubby, the prize sated buffet lunch for the family, but when we got there this wasn't to be.
As we were walking to the burger van (the only food option) we found a tenner! Lunch sorted..and free day out!:j0 -
I never find anything
unless you count countless empty beer cans from the idiots that live near me, think the most money ive found is 3p......that my son quickly stuck in his money box!

Not found much at all lately
No one drops pennies around here anymore! Saw one in the pub on Friday night, but owing to the smell around there, I hate to think what was on it so left well alone!!
Tesco receipts that others drop with valuable points on are my favourite - next to cash obviously!Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
my mam lives near a school and a shop and is always picking up 1p and 2p and sometimes 5p that the school kids seem to just throw away after buying stuff from shop.0

elastic bands dropped by postie (daily!)
£10 note once
can't resist picking up odd screws and nails (don't half come in handy)
loads of pens/pencils/markers etc (live near uni)
windfall apples and pears that fall on the paths
hair scrunchies/slides/clip
odd earrings/bits of jewellery (use for craft stuff)
nice woolly scarf
I'm sure there's loads more
