I had to mess about sending proof of address etc to them for Orange.

I decided to go for the Nokia 3120 instead, only 32,000 points, but still get a great tarrif for free plus make about £80 in points and will sell the handset for about £35-£40. Other choice may have been the 3220, but you only get 30,000 points and phone not really worth much more. Has told me it is in stock and will be sent out today.

It is really poor that they didn't contact people to tell them the phone was out of stock, but I think they didn't expect the sudden rush of orders. I think these offers have been around for a while but it has been highlighted to many by being on here.

I agree (as posted previously on this this thread) with the severe lack of customer service-i intend to write a letter of complaint to boots. They should be aware of the poor light they are being portrayed in by the people that are representing them.

I had my existing Orange contract handset BLOCKED over the weekend.

This was due to security checks for the new contract I took out and the only way I found out was when I couldn't make/recieve calls and had to fax my ID to Orange.

For some reason, Orange decided to add the new handset to my existing account and Boots/Dextra didn't contact me to request ID.

how long did it take for you to get the first 1000 points? i got my phone 2 weeks ago and when i popped into boots today they still weren't there!

I also fell for the Boots deal. This deal seemed too good to be true!

Orderd my Sony-Erikson T290i on Sept 24. received an acknowledgement of the order, complete with the promo points value. Then, a few days later I was told there would be a seven day delay as they were awaiting stock from the manufacturer.
A message was left on my home phone last friday about my order. I spoke to them today and was told the handset and the tariff had been discontinued.
I've checked the Bootsmobiles web site and the new offers and significantly worse than the one I signed up for.

Does anyone have any idea what the legal position is? Boots accepted my order so aren't they obliged to honour it?

Incidently the handset is still available in most high street phone stores so it must still be possible for Boots to source it.

I ordered a Nokia 6610 a month ago which was out of stock, but which eventually arrived last week, sealed packaging but the box was open inside (shouldnt it normally be cellophane wrapped?). However all seems to be OK. Would say company is terribly inefficient but seems straight.
