Do the phones you have ordered have such a thing as a Calendar program?
Make an entry on the phone to remind you - even add one for a few dates, with an alarm set too!

And/Or you could use the (free) reminder service on Greasypalm - they'll send you an e-mail to make sure you remember that important date!!

  • If your with yahoo you can set up an e-mail reminder aswell.

I also fell for the Boots deal. This deal seemed too good to be true!

Orderd my Sony-Erikson T290i on Sept 24. received an acknowledgement of the order, complete with the promo points value. Then, a few days later I was told there would be a seven day delay as they were awaiting stock from the manufacturer.
A message was left on my home phone last friday about my order. I spoke to them today and was told the handset and the tariff had been discontinued.
I've checked the Bootsmobiles web site and the new offers and significantly worse than the one I signed up for.

Does anyone have any idea what the legal position is? Boots accepted my order so aren't they obliged to honour it?

Incidently the handset is still available in most high street phone stores so it must still be possible for Boots to source it.

The same thing has happened to me. I orderered on 23rd Sept, rec'd my confirmation email straight away, and then heard nothing since.
I called yesterday only to be told that the tariff had been discontinued and my order was cancelled - Which is odd, because it was there on the web site the day I bought the darn thing. Anyway, they could not offer the same deal on anything else, and asked me if Id like to place another order with them for something else. I've looked through at the deals on there now, and they are all much worse than the one I signed up for.

The best one I can see now is £25 monthly, 12months contract, with 36,000 points. Anybody see anything better?

hiya- first post on here so bear with me. just wanted to add my story, heard about this phone deal and ordered the motorola v220 on vodaphone offpeak 1000 with 250 texts at £16 per month and 36000 points  . got the phone within a couple of days, activated it all fine, got post from vodaphone and got worried as it said half price for 6 months, so thought it was gonna go up to £32- rang them up and nope its down to £8 for 6 months which is another saving. I got the 1000 points ok, and should get the £350 in 7 months. so, it all worked a treat for me, and thank you for it.

:T Wooo hooooo, well done & welcome to 'posting on MSE' :D
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
  • Confused  To claim my boots points I need to claim on receipt of the 7th invoice and within 8 calendar months of connection. My first bill was not received until 6 weeks after connection so this seems impossible to achieve. Any advice from those who've used this system before. Do I bombard them with E-mails between the 7th and 8th month. Have E-mailed Dextra but surprise, surprise, no response :wall:

I glad you pointed that out I had missed the within 8 months bit. I received my phone on 23 September (meaning 8 months ends on 23 May) and the first bill was not until 8th November (7th bill should be with me by 9th May). Double check on a calendar you may just get in if you got the bill 6 weeks after connection.

The first invoice was for one month and a bit. I wonder if that counts as invoices 1 and 2? Anyway, on that basis I shall contact them after invoice no 6 not 7, as the offer is clearly impossible otherwise. I know some other people have successfully done this before, could one of them comment please?
If it turns out that it is physically impossible to get these points, we shall have to mobilise a large number of disgruntled MSEers to shame Boots and dextra with very bad publicity. With a bit of luck, this wont be necessary.

If you do any mobilising, let me know. My third invoice should be arriving soon and I don't want to be done out of my points in 4 months' time.
