    Hiya ISOM,

    If there's anything I can do, just gimme a shout/pm. If you post what's in your cupboard and freezer I'll even do you one of my freakishly nerdy spreadsheets!

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Please count me in this week, I still have a veg box coming (too late to cancel) but have cut it down, so no going to the shops for me, just as well as I spent my pennies last week on a food dehydrator, which will be fun when it turns up.

    Our weakness at chez catz is snacks, I need to make them healthy and cheap and this week will be able to sort out and use up some interesting storecupboard ingredients. I have some tinned chickpeas so I'm thinking of making some hummous to have with veg and hm bread sticks.

    Breakfast - hm muesli (big bag of oats in larder and lots of dried fruit)
    Lunch - soup (even on a hot day it will use up some of the folorn veg in the fridge) and hm bread
    Dinner - :think: not sure but need to use an aubergine up

    need to make up a menu plan for the rest of the week.

    Catz x

    Well, as we've been doing this for a couple weeks we are running low on fruit and veggies (not even any tinned fruit left) so today we'll have to get some in. Apart from that and a bottle of milk and six eggs I think we're sorted for the week. Won't need bread as we've got lots of pitta bread and I'm going to make some scones or spice buns which will be a nice change to morning toast.

    Today, tomorrow and thursday are quite easy days as I get most of my meals at work (I'm a nanny) so its just a light supper when I come home to think of.

    My only downfall is that I tend to get to work early and so I pop into the shops along the high road and normally end up getting something. This week though, I'll pop into the library instead.

    Breakfast-banana smoothie with last frozen berries and a slightly squashy banana plus some Greek yoghurt and sunflower seeds.
    Supper-a salad or egg and pitta bread.

    I've stuffed up already. I got to the station and completely forgot I was supposed to be having a no-spend week so bought myself a latte (£1.95). It just goes to show how easy it is to spend money without thinking.

    Hi, I'd like to join in too, please - did my grocery shop on Sunday, haven't been out of the house until back at work today. I usually end up spending money on more food - I go home, think "I don't want that" (whatever I have in my meal plan) and buy something else! This has not been doing my pocket or my waistline any good, so committing me to a no spend week is a good idea.

    Although I said I'm not in on this, last two days have been nsd. :T

    Another storecupboard/freezer surprise meal tonight.

    Thanks for the motivation and hope everyone else is doing well.

    Count me in too please.

    I like the op 'think' I have to have loads of food in or I'll run out, so I hope this will help me, knowing I am going to have to make myself post up if I spend anything.

    So the week so far

    Sunday= Nil (cleaned patio)
    Monday= Nil (painted fence!! )

    By the time I finished both jobs the shops had shut! :rotfl:

    Just seen your post, but what does a food dehydrator do? and what types of food to you use it for?

    Hope you don't mind me asking, but I have never heard of them.:embarasse

    Failed again! However, this was entirely sensible spending - for once in my life. I have to go to a wedding in June and was expecting to spend £50-£60+ on train fares. However, I managed to track down a super advanced special offer that only cost £22 plus p&p (£23.50 overall). If I'd left it until next week I'd have missed out on such a cheap fare. So am I forgiven?
