    I've been Money Tipped!
Yesterday was a bit challenging as we had a power cut but I had made some hummous earlier so only had to cut up some carrots, celery and radishes (from veg box that I couldn't cancel) sitting out in the garden with that and a glass of red wine and all seemed well in my world.

I am definately getting a sense of satisfaction in processing our own food and in using up the "clutter" from the larder.
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Hi, so far so good, but dd asked for salad with her quiche last night, dh and ds were having baked beans with theirs. I found her a couple of cherry toms and a little bit of cucumber, but have to say that I need to remedy that, especially the weather as it is. I found it hard to put together a salad lunch for me yesterday as well. In the end it was kidney beans, sweetcorn, red pepper in brine from the fridge and a can of tuna.

I will stick to the minimum of lettuce, tomatoes, cuc I think. Fruit is the other area I need to top up on. DD went to party on Sunday and took fruit for the chocolate fountain. Her guides (she's a young leader) were doing chocolate fondue last night, so another couple of pieces there. They need their fruit! Will try and budget how much before I leave and just get enough for when I plan to shop again. Might be Sunday.

Glad this is just a no-food-spend for me, as I'm going to John Lewis to get some vinyl tableclothing stuff to protect the new table. MIL will get me a coffee! Need to sort myself out else I won't be ready at the agreed time!

Well, good thing it was only a no-food-spend week! Though I have bought lots of fruit and veg, I decided that the stuff in the house simply wasn't enough to keep us going, so I would have to do it. In my defence, I started this without going shopping first, just with the leftovers of the previous week, so I don't feel too bad about it. I couldn't get a lettuce well Sainsbury's (not my usual haunt) wanted 95p for an iceberg, so we detoured to Lidl on the way home, theydidn't have ANY lettuce at all, so got plenty of tomatoes and cuc, have fresh basil here so that will keep dd happy. MIL took me in to her's when I dropped her off and she has given me half her lettuce and some sticks of rhubarb.

SHe's been generous today, coffee out, lunch out (we shared a s/w and teacake) and bought me a plant (welsh onion) at the gdn centre. I think the welsh onion will be very ms, as it's perennial and cut and come again type of onion.

Hope the rest of you are going on OK. I will now have to see how many days I can work out of what is left in now!

Evening all! Well it was close! Neary got some clothes but managed to just window shop! Problem is its been boiling & I dont have summer clothes that fit! Other problem was that my collegues all know I'm doing this so when I went out said to leave my purse etc!! Also bearing in mind that I set the challenge I also feel a certain pressure to do it which is no bad thing! So success! Despite a bad day (usual trigger) have managed not to spend or pop in for wine/fags on the way home! Supper is in the oven (leftovers!) & I'm off after that to itemise my larder! Life of excitemet once again in ISOM land!!
Good that youre now not lopsided Kaz! Nowt like a comfy fitting bra!
Well done purple ivy & great news dutchy! Amazing what you can do when you try eh!
Re throwing food I am better than I used to be but sometimes have to chuck stuff - ie tonight as the bacon is off but much better than I used to be & use compost when I can so at least its put to good use!
    Hows everyone else doing?

    Hi ISOM,
Mr Weezl here. We (despite inventory) narrowly avoided having to throw out nettle soup tonight, after I discovered mouldy thing(?) lurking at the back of the fridge. Soup next to it was ok even though it was made from 2 weeks ago's nettle harvest-fest, but it seems our fridge is not as well inventoried as our freezers. I feel another spreadsheet coming on!

Hello Mr Weezl welcome to the mother ship!!! Can I suggest a sympathetic hug for Mrs Weezl as I suspect that she may become traumatised by actually having to chuck sommat away (does she know yet?!!)! Plus a hug for you as you cope with the devastation caused by waste but fear not. I have nettles & will gladly share if you would like them so all is not lost!! Off to do my inventory as requested! No que (or it is cue?!!) jumping for new spreadsheets please!! (scuttles off to obediently itemise contents of house...)

    Hi

well today I had to spend some money

It was £2.90 to post some squares off to the wooligans, so don't feel too guilty about this.
On the plus side I managed to go round the town with my mum and window shop :T
Mum took pity on me and bought the coffee so all in all a very nice day.
I even managed to save on petrol and parking by cycling there and back so this kind of balances out the money spent:o

Should be alright tomorrow as I have just got an allotment and plan to spend most of the day there waging war on weeds that are as tall as me in places.

Well done everyone with this challenge it is not as easy as you first think
so I think we are all doing great

I know weezl...shocking! An imposter! Taking the P*** no less!
Well done TB - I have an allotment too & love it! Hopefully will spend much of the w/e there too trying to get my weeds down! How many perches do you have? Well done on not spending much! There are things we have to pay for (ie me & my postage yesterday!) Meant to ask what the wooligans thing is? I assume knitting a square?

mmmmm not sure what a perch is but I have 1/16th of an acre complete with weeds, felled tree, and a well.

Looks pretty bad at the moment but am hoping to make progress tomorrow.
    Hopefully planting something next week.

    Hi everyone

I've had to spend extra that i didn't account for today (£9.80 for OHs dry cleaning) He needs it to wear to work next week.

I only had to spend £2 on bus fare cos OH collected me on the way home

So I'm still doing well because normally I would have had choccy or cake from the shop by now. I've rooted the BM out and made bread yesterday and theres another loaf in now. I've still got plenty of food in and the important thing is that I feel in control.

    Good luck everyone
