  • Well, ive been doing exactly the same as we all have for ages and all of a sudden I got an email from LyleHill stating that they were sorry but they had no record of my registered complaint with AMC (although we all know they are the same company AND I always cc'd every letter to everyone every time!!) they then said they had made enquiries with AMC and found that following my complaint my memberships should have been cancelled in October 08 and apologised that they had set Empingham on me!! I then contacted Empingham who confirmed that they have had instructions to cancel their account with me. Admittedly I havent heard from AMC but I have it in writing form Empingham and LyleHill that its over and I dont owe them anything!!! Thats good enough for me!!

Now, my advice to you all - I havent done anything other than what we have all said to do on this forum and I made myself a real pain in the bum for them, reminding them everytime of their breach and naming all the Trading Standards depts from all the counties mentioned on this forum, stating that they are under investigation by them all.

I havent doen anything more than what we all talk about on here, so if I can beat them then we all acn....and we all will!!!!!! Just dont give up.

Kim _ dont pay them a penny!!!! Keep strong and follow the advice in this (now very big) forum. They cant do a thing and if they actually take one of us to court (will never happen) then I am sure that every single person on this forum will attend as a witness for that person.

There is strength in numbers!!! Well done everyone!!:j:rotfl::T

    Hi

I have received a reponse from Lyle Hill saying that I cannot cancel this agreement with them (Lyle Hill Memebrship Management) and that I need to cancel with AMC and gave me the address to write to. Therefore, I shall do as requested.

Since this letter I have received a further letter from Lyle Hill demanding this money. I will also respond to this letter and that will be my final letter informing them that i will not be paying a penny.

I work in insurance and I know that what they are doing is illeagal as any credit agreement comes with a lot of information that has been set out by the FSA. This information is to protect the customer and is all about treating the customer fairly. This company are in breach of these regulations. I suggest that we hang on in there and hopefully very soon these scum bags will disappear.

It makes me wonder what kind of people work for these companies! I know theres a shortage of jobs at the moment but i would rather scrub toilets than do what these scum bags are doing!

I am currently awaiting my next letter from AMC, they don't seem to be in a hurry to get their money do they? when i receive this letter demanding money i will do the same as you toby42. Having been on this forum for a few weeks now it is obvious it is just a scam and i refuse to give into them now or in the future. Forum is great for keeping my fighting spirit going!!

    Hi guys!
Been a while since me or my wife posted on here but we've not heard anything for months now. We assume that they've just given up now.

Food for thought- has anyone attempted to pose as a gym, wishing to use the facilities of the AMC to attract new members? I don't know what the legalities would be about this, but it's a surefire way to get behind enemy lines and expose them for what they are! It would also be interesting to get an inside view of what the gyms are actually told when they sign up to the scheme.

I might investigate further to see what could happen.

Also, has anyone actually spoken to the gyms to discuss the scam? I never went back to my one in Gloucester as I was too furious to do so.

Went back to my gym to see if they could help when i got first letter for payment and all he did was give me the address to write to them, and this was the owner/manager of the gym! He didn't seem overly concerned at all. Went back again when i received another letter for payment and spoke to a staff member who told me the company were a pain, and i was not the first person to complain about them. Not impressed with gym won't be going back there again.

    Hi guys

its all gone quite on my end
I would say it feels like they have given up but considering it took them 9 months to contact me in the first place im not holding my breath just yet

only yesterday received my expected letter from Lyle Hill informing me i have to get in touch with AMC or Fitness Finance and not themselves. I see from other threads on this forum that this is how the letters pan out, they obviously follow a set pattern of trying to get more money out of us and keep passing the buck from one to the other.A few more letters to go then i should start receiving phone calls which i'm so ready for!! The last letter i sent them was 3 weeks ago so they don't rush to reply do they?
