I had looked on google maps to see if i could find out where they are based....and as you said they are both from houses!! What kind of a business are they?!?0 -
I have received another letter from AMC, and they are still going on with the same old ****. But, they also attached a photocopy of the original flier I was sent?? Now I thought these have been illegal since May, and I told them so in my e-mail. Are they really that stupid?0

Well i tried going into see cit. adv. but they were totally mobbed (wonder if some of them were in for the same thing as me :rotfl: )
My friend who i took along with me, isnt bothered at all, and everytime they send out letters to me i start to worry again, so i fire up the laptop, read this thread and feel so much better with posts from others supporting others. I feel better when a hear 'they're just at it' and so forth. Just wished a had never went ahead with the bl))dy thing.
With regards to the last post there, i was exactly the same as you, put a search on and the first hit was this forum, just goes to show eh.
I would just like to say to all, thanks for posting all your comments, because then i know this company are at it big time with the threats of court and so on. Cheers guys :T
You should contact Trading Standards. They have the most knowledge of all this and the person I have been dealing with has been extremely helpful and has sent all of these compainies letters aswell, although they either reply saying that it's nothing to do wth them and rty to pass the buck, or they ignore him too.
I have been advised not to worry as it is highly unlikely that these chumps will take anyone to court and its just a load of letters after letter. If they do succeed in taking us all to court, it's highly unlikely that any action would be taken as we are all in the same boat with the same concerns.
I am just fed up now because this has been goin gon for far too long and they aren't in a hurry to move things along very quickly.
I am still waiting from a reply from the so called debt collector, they haven't responded for weeks.0 -

Hi
Answer to your question, no they didnt take me to court, lol. I phoned them and said ok im willing to go and asked them what court and eci said they havent actually got that court date, it was just a maybe. All it is, is a notice and anybody can send them. Trading standards are brill, they have given me lots of good advice. Did anybody have a credit check before signing???? NO didnt think so, by law the company have to do a credit check before giving you credit, so FITLIFE are breaking the law!!
Trading standards are looking into this so please everyone phone them to complain, the more people that phone, hopefully will make our cases stronger against FITLIFE. x0 -

Hello,I've recently subscribed to this thread and have been reading it with interest. My husband did a phone survey in the beginning of 2005 and was told that as a gift he was been given free membership to a local gym.I thought it sounded a bit suss at the time but he went along and joined the gym on the 3/3/05 and was told like everyone else that he would have to pay charges for the maintenence and upkeep of the gym.He gave his dd details but has no copys of this or any agreements ie credit agreements or contracts etc.Fast forward a yr and he wasn't using the gym and tried to cancel membership but was told by fitlife that his contract was for 2 yrs?Trouble is he has a rubbish memory and can't remember if he was originally told this at his induction. We have been chased by fitlife and rcs for yrs now.At one point they started adding charges on 'cos we couldn't pay the amount they requested. They then sent a card stating they were holding a package. When we rung they said it was a solicitors letter for a court date. When my hubby said he wouldn't be attending they said he would be charged £120 a day and there would be a warrent for his arrest??!!!!Approx 2 yrs ago we went to cab and they had never heard of them.We have been paying fitlife a token payment of £1.00 for a few yrs now,but we have had no more correspondence from them at all.Don't want to set it all off again by ringing them to find out where we stand but at the same time I don't like being conned and don't want to pay them anymore! Also the 'agreement' was taken out in my hubbys old name which he has now changed to his stepfathers surname. If that makes sense?Any advice or comments would be welcome?!:female:Our 2 gorgeous little girls born 2006 and 2010
