Hello everyone.
We're having a shower here this afternoon, but it's still very mild.
Just got back from a successful weekly shop - managed to get within my weekly budget for the first time. Will put everything away then start the BM off. Might do some baking too. Caught up on all of my washing yesterday and shifted a mountain of ironing.
Hope everyone is having a good BH weekend.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -
hi squidley, must of cross posted with you! what sw essays do you have to do?? Once you get through 2nd year, the worst is over. keep going:T
Dorry, are you a SW too???? The essay I’m trying to write now is a critical analysis of a piece of work I’ve done. I think I have something in mind, but whether it will be enough for me to write 3000 words about I’m not sure yet…. Gotta come up with something pretty fast though, lol! Then I have to write one about risk – which is proving very hard as the lectures have been very spaced out so far & we have missed 2 (through lecturer cancellation) so there is a lot of anxiety (from my whole group) around how to write an essay on a topic we don’t really “get”. I’m just so tired & though into the last 3 weeks of placement now have got a large 6000/8000 word report I need to do for that as well…. Am having the same problems as you with neck/shoulder pain (hence migraine yesterday) but doesn’t help that my part-time job is also typing… Nearly there though – have a spa break booked at Grayshott in mid-June as my motivation to keep going J
Gena, had my banana bread too – dripping in butter but I’ll worry about the weight-watching when I finish for the summer! Pink1970 thank you for that recipe for choc mayonnaise cake, will definitely be giving that a go J
Thanks AnnieBL, migraine gone today, trying not to overdo it on the laptop or the sugary junk… I sympathise with Tattycath’s DD (and everyone else who gets them); I simply can’t function at all when I get one L
Elona, is it too late to come for lunch????? My microwave decided to start flashing lights & smelling of burning when I put it on last night, grrrr!! Everything seems to be falling apart (or being broken by DD’s who don’t seem to care..) at the moment.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)

Hi all - just had lunch and DH is busy replacing his rear-window windscreen wiper because the car is due it's MOT sometime soon; we've done some gardening and swept up leaves and grass cuttings. Once he's finished the car I think we'll be having a doze before the grandchildren burst in on us! The weather was full of promise but the clouds just won't lift; I know the sun is up there. Still, it's not cold.
I've done lots of paperwork and invoices so I feel as if I have earned a rest this afternoon. Just need to clear up the lunch things.
Hope everyone is having a good Sunday.
See you all later.

Afternoon all
Katy went away last night & won't be back til tomorrow, (unless she has a row with her friends).
We've been to Matalan to get hubby some work trousers & to B & Q to get some fence paint, our neighbours replaced their fence just after we'd painted our side, he's also painted the veg bed to match. He's also hoping to cut the grass, but as it's already raining I can't see him managing that. He's working tomorrow, so if it's dry I'll cut the grass while he's at work.
We had a stressful couple of hours yesterday as we had visitors whose marriage is in melt down, personally I wish they'd stay home, lol.
I'm not cooking today, I have a fridge full of home made snacks, scotch eggs, marinaded chicken wings etc so we'll eat that up today.
Hugs to those in need.
Hester

Hi everyone. Haven't baked yet, been to get kids a dvd from asda. Eldest DD doesn't appear to have a migraine today-thankfully- but she has complained alot of feeling dizzy and light headed, also her appetite seems very supressed- she eats part of a meal and then complains she feels sick and can't eat any more... Hopefully it's just a side effect. She does need to lose some weight, she has already lost half a stone since she started these tablets, but I'm not sure this is the best way of losing the weight. I think I might take her down to the drs later in the week to have her BP checked-now they have upped the medication, I wouldn't want the BP to drop too drastically and cause mpore problems than it solves. She has her year 9 sats this week so looks like she'll be having a few earlier nights

I'm tired today. I have briefly blogged on my blog and checked sales on internet, but i could just go to sleep. OH is at work for a few hours this afternoon-so I might sneak a quick nap

I know what you mean aobut your shoulder and neck, I think its made worse by tension. I have been in the office since feb, doing a audit, so that has made mine worse. The laptop was making mine really hurt as well ! (god Im old)

Afternoon all
Lovely weather is still here. Had a really c**p sleep, never mind last night tonight.
Squiggly, that sounds like a nightmare all the work you have to do.
TattyCath hope your daughter is better soon, you must be really worried.
RedRuby sorry to hear about your OH friend, so sad.
Have just had breakfast. Still lovely here. OH is out with DS so will catch up with them soon. Do me good to get some fresh air. Will get my sheets in before I go.
Enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

Had such a scary thing happen last night. Husband is away (typical) and a HUGE bug flew into my bedroom, buzzing around and being scary, so I ran downstairs to get the swatter, got back upstairs and couldn't find it so assumed it had flown back off.
NO - the little b****** was hiding and launched another attack, then settled on husbands pillow, I bravely ran to the bath room, got a towel and threw is over the bug, took the pillow to the window and tried to flick it off.
Pesky thing wouldn't move so I had to throw whole pillow out of window!!
This morning, went into garden and the flippin thing was still on the pillow (much to son's amusement!) So I moved it into the sun in the hope of burning it off or a bird risking eating it!
GOrgeous sunshine in Germany today - hooray:T

afternoon all,
Been out for a ride on the bikes through the woods, which were absolutly covered with bluebells, it was like a blue carpet, and stunning, we normally see a lot of deer in those woods, but none today as there were so many people there looking at the bluebells.
Came home to roast pork, spuds cauli cheese, and french beans with yorkies, Kathy my DD made your Tart, (was it manchester ?) which was delicious, and so easy to make, will be a favoutite here I think.
Its been nice here all day, the sun has not been out, but its been warm, OH has done the lawns, and little dog enjoyed her run, and roast dinner, and is now fast asleep, DD is practicing guitar  , and I am about to have a doze.
Thanks for good wishes re nephew, and OH friend, I think OH is trying not to think about it too much.
Have good evenings all xx0
