Daily Thread Sunday 4th May

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday, 4th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.WW

Well, here I am not bright eyed and bushy tailed. Fell asleep last night about 10.00 pm and have woken feeling I haven't slept. Very busy day yesterday preparing for the holiday doing washing, ironing, shopping, cutting grass, cleaning out hamster etc etc.

Off to DD's this afternoon and then a 4.00 am start to the airport on Monday. Still have to pack my suitcase but at least stuff has been looked out.

Take care of yourselves while I am away.

    Morning Granny & everyone else,

Have a great holiday Granny. I see you've got your wardrobe sorted. Can't believe how brave you are. :D Lovely sunny day here. DH burning out a tree stump and the place is all smoked up. We were going to go out today but DH has to work tomorrow and he wanted to get a few chores done. I"m having a I'm bored day  and can't really settle to do much at all. Think I might go for a walk to blow the cobwebs away.

Good morning Grannybroon and AussieLass. GB - have a great holiday and try and get some sleep tonight!

SMOKY and the LOs - (((hugs))) to you.

    CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:

I haven't caught up with the rest of yesterday's thread yet; will do that in a minute.

Well, after a miserable forecast for the whole weekend, yesterday was lovely and it seems like today is going to be good too, fingers crossed! They forecast lots of rain but here in the south we seem to have missed it.

I'm planning an easy day today because I did quite a lot yesterday. I have to type out some invoices and quotations for DH and I have a smallish ironing pile but, apart from that, nothing is really pressing. We started on the vino last night and both of us dozed off on the sofa so that was an exciting Saturday night!

Anyway, off to have a shower so see you all later.

    Morning all,

awake early, still feeling a bit groggy too as went to bed around 8.30 with borderline migraine :( I'd had neck/shoulder ache all day, partly from typing my office letters & it just wouldn't ease... And I've been sliding back into old habits of snacking on chocolate & sugary junk, which I know hasn't helped. Think I will go & buy some nice fruits later, like strawberries & melon & nectarines, etc. So never did start the essay, but may try to do some notes on it later, but won't push too much either.

Granny, hope you catch up on your sleep too & have a great holiday - I'm sure we'll all eagerly be checking the thread daily for the photos you post via Aussie....!!!

Redruby - glad to hear your nephew is doing ok - SocSvcs & any court will definitely take his wishes into account, especially at his age - he can say to them he doesn't want to go home & they shouldn't force him to - especially as he is suffering from neglect there.

((((((smokey, penpin, anniebl, anniestar)))))) and I know there are others but brain is not quite functioning yet...
Martyn, I am sitting in bed (oops, TMI!) listening to the birds singing outside (well, they were at 4.30am too....) and it was a nice way to wake up :)

    TNG - :smileyhea

Anyway, I'm rambling now & think I'm going off to get a cuppa. Will catch up with you later. Have a good day all.

Good morning all. I'm doing well this weekend-I made the first page on here yesterday and today, not like me at all. I'm just making OH a cuppa then I'm going to drag him off to a car boot for a mooch round-just hope the rain holds off. He managed to get the grass cut last night and DD helped him to rake it all up. He'll be off to work later no doubt, not sdure if I'm going in today or not-we'll have to work either today or tomorrow even though it is a bank holiday.
    Have a great holiday Grannybroon
((((((hugs)))))) to all who need or want one

    Morning.

Looks like rain here, I hope it does not as I want to BBQ later. I want a nice day at home trying to sort out some junk and make a space for my egg incubators. I am going to try my first 20 eggs later today once I get a plug adaptor. I thought I had one until I found all the kids had knicked them for PS3's and stuff.
It's a professional set up, so having had my intructions last night I am all raring to go.
I tell you what's amazing and that is I had a car load of electronics last night to do the job that a chicken can do naturally.
It's amazing what lengths we have to go to replicate it.

Well I am off to the paper shop. Cheers

    Morning all!
Well, yesterday was pretty hectic so I'm hoping for an easier one today. Found out that I'm going to the Radio 1 Big Weekend on Saturday though so that'll be fun.

Got the food shopping delivered but it was late, so have £10 off the next shop, which'll help out a lot. Need to review that spending today and try and plan as many meals as possible for the next 2 weeks. then it's painting, woo.
