Worth moving to Inverness?

Inverness has an airport! Easy Jet fly from Inverness to Gatwick. Its only another hour on the journey.
I go to Inverness tomorrow, you can't beat the scenary and the shopping is great too.
Yes but don't you have to check in 2 hours before and then your flight has to tie in with the one from Gatwick, which you could miss etc. From where the OP is now he can get to Gatwick fairly quickly.0 -

Definitely try the place out before making a decision. I wish I'd taken that same advice given to me some years when I upped sticks from Leeds and moved to Glasgow to be closer to my g/f at the time. Although the place was fine for a weekend stay it was a totally different feeling once I'd moved there. In fact suffice to say I absolutely hated the place and moved back to Leeds 2 months later. People that moan about London should try living in Glasgow for a while - you'll soon realise how nice London actually is..
If you've got any close friends where you are now, you will miss them I can guarantee it. You won't realise just how much until you've actually moved though. Unless you're a very outgoing person and can make friends with just about anyone, you will feel very isolated and lonely being in a place you don't know and with people you don't know. Having said that, if you spend most of your life in Africa then I guess that probably isn't an issue.

Electricity and street lights are no real substitue for actual daylight, IMHO....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

According to http://channel4bestandworst.com/ Inverness does get very good reviews but still a bit hesitant:rolleyes:
...when I was in the military we got a short-notice posting to Germany (Ace!). As we had only recently bought the bloody house, I dashed round to our lawyer who read the offending letter from our BS. He said "they don't say you cannot let it out - only that they cannot give their permission for you to do so".
"Eh!, surely that means I can't?"
"Who's the lawyer round here?" His argument was that they were effectively washing their hands and leaving all the "responsibility" for the letting to us.
" You'll just have to let it out without their permission!"
...and so we continued with our original plan to let it out and slope off to Germany. We had no problems at all with the tenancy throughout our overseas tour and returned several years later.
So I suppose the moral is read what they've actually said...“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around.
But when I got to be twenty one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”

:rotfl: Probably no darker than the rest of the UK
In winter, yes, it will be a lot darker than, say, London, because it is so much further north. And lighter in summer....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
