As loads of people use facebook, well most of the UK, why dont we set up a facebook group on Welcome Finance, so people can post there comments and we can actually find out the real truth behind this terrible company.

What do you lot think ?

    Jay

    :T

That would be a good idea, but as long as it's not a 'we hate Welcome' group, as they may take legal action against the author.

You dont have to run to skippyland just to avoid debts.

Just do what i do, go below the radar of credit agencies like me.

i.e use companys that dont do credit checks.
tiscali take on people without credit checks for broadband/phone.
halifax get a bank account without a cc.
    ect

If you dont apply for credit for 6 years all your debts just get wiped.
if the likes of welcome ect harrass you just move and lye low.
(not to aus though ha ha)

remind me who the scum are again??

I'm all up for claiming back rip off PPI etc... but borrowing, buying your holiday or TV (or anything) then high tailing it into the distance would fall into most peoples definition of Scum tbh...

you probably had most peoples sympathy until that post.

Oh, and to all the people who think their debt gets wiped when a lender goes into administration.... think again.. you just have to pay someone else.

    Good.

I sent a SAR in a few weeks ago. They have until 9th March and then, if I don't receive it, I'll be complaining to the Information Commissioner.

Just checked the post office and it was only delivered today

How long do they have to reply is it 40 days?

    Dear tighterthantocoatsofpain
Im afriad in response to your statement about myself.
in this day and age its dog eat dog.

Though unpleasant sometimes one has to get by using gutter tactics.
an old saying i was taught years ago
"use them like they use you"

im afraid the scum companies like welcome use these sort of tactics
so its about time members of the public like myself fought back using dirtier tactics.

But the biggest thing most people forget is these credit agencies were set up 25-30 years ago by ONE COMMISSIONERS REPORT.

Now without our permission they hold files on us that companys like welscum prey on.
MORE WORRYINGLY the only body that overseas these scum agencies are the oft (office of fair trading)
fsa dont have any legal hold over them
commissioners office pass the buck to fsa!!!
credit agencies should be scrapped IMMEDIATLEY and go back to old fashoned affordabilty i.e bank statements, proof of rent, mortgage.
CREDIT AGENCIES CAUSED THIS RECESSION NOT BANKS.

i basically ran out of patience with consumer direct(trading standards)
    oft office of fair trading,ect.
I had a chat with a solicitor i know who friends family have used.
he said lets try a writ, put down all of your arguements ect
then they would have to respond.

yes it cost me £295 to have it typed up ect, worded correctly.
but id ran out of avenues.
i served the writ in person, to save £120 for a brief to do it.

    Hi Gina

The other option you have, before legal action, is to send a Subject Access Request. This costs £10 and they MUST provide it within 40 days of receipt or they are in breach of th Data Protection Act and can be reported to the Information Commissioner.

The trouble with CCA requests is that there is no official timescale anymore and not much will be done IMO.

That's quite a lot of money. I take it you'll be forwarding the charge to Cattles?

    Are you in Scotland?
