The seller protection thingy though only applies to the ebay auction as it depends on the sellers feedback. You can find out more about the protection on Paypal site (owned by ebay I believe); this is a summary;
Dispute resolution on PayPal purchases.
When you pay with PayPal, you gain access to a forum for dispute resolution called the Resolution Center. Through it, you can file a claim against:- A physical good that you paid for but never received.
- A physical good you purchased on eBay that is significantly different than what was described in the listing.

After wornout advised me in a pm to email seller through ebay and give him a deadline I have just heard from him. by email. He is in Spain and his brother was supposed to see about getting the parcel ready for the courier. He says he won't be back until next Friday and will sort it out then. I hope he is speaking the truth. Felt a huge sense of relief when I heard from him but still niggling at the edge of my mind is the 3 feedbacks. Thanks all for your help particularly wornout mum. Fingers crossed for me. I have read some of the paypal advice on conflict but it says there is a time frame which to apply so again I worry. Taffy0

Did you use a credit card to pay via paypal?
Also, my first sale on ebay (years ago) was for £150 and I had a feedback of 0
The scammers can simply create postitive feedback using their other id's, or buy ebooks etc for a penny and usually have more then 3, he could just be a new and inexperienced seller, you have done as much as you can so try not to worry too much for the time being.
Not sure what the time scale is on pp thoughPayment a day challenge: £236.69

Just to give you a bit of comfort - two years ago I bought a camera on ebay for £200. That was an awful lot of money to me, but it was a great price for the camera. The seller had good feedback, but fairly low.
I sent a message asking for quick delivery as I was going to visit my new grand-daughter and wanted the camera to take photos of her.
The camera didn't turn up, the seller did not reply to e-mails, and I began to panic. Even more so when I got an email from the seller's brother, telling me that the seller had gone to Pakistan for a month on urgent family business and would sort it out on his return.
So I panicked some more. But actually the seller did return and the camera did turn up - and it was perfect.
So I don't blame you for panicking, but this all may be the truth. Hope so anyway.
