Just a quick note about the Tesco Value whisky - don't be scared of it. I'm a whisky fan and would never have touched it with a barge pole. Then I read this years edition of Jim Murray's Whisky Bible, where he gave it a really pretty good review. So I tried a botle and, surprisingly, it's really not that bad. It's pretty light and fruity; has a lot more character than other cheap blends. Definitely not the paint stripper you'd think.
