Why do peeps not buy Value eggs? What's wrong with them as I have some in the fridge....
It is the ethical issues involved, I think. It is for me, anyway.
I would rather buy free range / organic eggs than ones from caged birds, and I think this is others reasoning behind not buying the eggs0 -

Mainly because the are not free range. Imagine how bad the conditions must be for Tesco VALUE chickens!!
As I said some Value things are not worth is due to the decrease in flavour/quality - such as eggs and bread.0 -

So you think Tesco Value Chickens have a hell hole all of their own???
My understanding is that these eggs are no different to any other non-barn/non-free-range/non-organic - it's just that they may be odd sizes....0 -

I just wanted to add a bit on this subject as i fully agree that value foods are just as good qas others!!!
Unfortunately I was one of the ones that had no choice but to buy value foods after my partner was in a bad car crash and we had to make do with one wage!!! I have a greater respect for people who struggle with very little money and was glad that i could get 'support' from supermarkets through cheaper options that tasted just as good id go as far to saying that even though my man is back at work i would still buy the same things as before!!!

I have been buying tesco value beans, spagetti, pizza and ice cream for a while now as we are low income and the only one we did not like was the tuna.
Things like toilet roll are not worth buying, we found you use 2x as much as a decent brand.
Also I buy value dishwasher tablets and there exactly the same as branded ones.
With the washing powder I buy the tablets and only use 1 rather than the recommended 2 and I get twice the amount of washing done.0 -
I use lots of Value products. I have been surprised though at the price increases for some. For instance tuna at our local store was 29p a tin, its now 37p. Credit crunch and rising food prices affecting everything it seems.
My children LOVE the value noodles @8p.. can't find any now though as our store has discontinued them
Can still get the basic cheese and tomato Pizza though... the kids love to add their own toppings!0 -

I went shopping yesterday and was, like the rest of the UK I think, trying to cut my shopping bill.
I came across Tesco Value dishwasher tablets £1.78 for 30 - at least half the price of the Tesco 5-in-1 ones I usually get so I thought I'd give them a go.
They work just as well as the other ones! We washed a whole load of dishes including a tin which I'd baked enchiladas in and it all came out lovely and clean!
So give them a go!!!
I too have had enough and decided yesterday to cut my shopping bill.
decided to go Tesco and buy ONLY BOGOF or half price items, not much in the way of BOGOFF but lots of items half price, everything in my basket was stuff I would normally buy anyway and EVERTHING was half price, bill came to £28 which would normally have been £56. took it all home, then went to sainsburys and did the same again with their BOGOFS spent 32.00 and got £27 worth of stuff free! so £55's worth of stuff for nowt! first time I have ever done this, but i will now be doing it a lot more in future!0
