decided to go Tesco and buy ONLY BOGOF or half price items, not much in the way of BOGOFF but lots of items half price, everything in my basket was stuff I would normally buy anyway and EVERTHING was half price, bill came to £28 which would normally have been £56. took it all home, then went to sainsburys and did the same again with their BOGOFS spent 32.00 and got £27 worth of stuff free! so £55's worth of stuff for nowt! first time I have ever done this, but i will now be doing it a lot more in future!
:T On your fab savings!! I did this a couple of times with Tesco, they had some really good BOGOFs and the first week I managed to get £46 worth of stuff free and the next week £53!! I did stock up on things though, which made the savings higher but both times my shopping bills were under £70 so I did ok!
I tried to do this last week but the offers weren't great so I only managed to save £7.50! Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

I use lots of Value products. I have been surprised though at the price increases for some. For instance tuna at our local store was 29p a tin, its now 37p. Credit crunch and rising food prices affecting everything it seems.
My children LOVE the value noodles @8p.. can't find any now though as our store has discontinued them
Can still get the basic cheese and tomato Pizza though... the kids love to add their own toppings!
Bought the 8p Value noodles for the first time the other day, gave them to my hubby and son and they loved them!! Hope Tesco aren't gonna phase them out now.........0 -
Their tortilla chips are really good, 19p I think. I also highly rate the Peanut Butter.0

I like the jaffa cakes, n the salted peanuts tooMen think monogamy is something you make dining tables out of-Kathy Lette;)0

are brilliant, more hygienic than more expensive ones as you can throw them away after a couple of uses at 3p each, whereas I find if I had paid 50p I have to get loads of use out of it.
Alumininum foil also perfectly fine.
Used to buy value ketchup, bit runnier but tasted OK.
Value dustbin liners - 30 for about 79p : we use them for the swing bin. Fine but dont put anything too heavy as they are thin. Currently also using them to grow spuds on patio (using 2 together), but shan't attempt to move them as they would split.0 -
When it was being done yesterday, one of the girls at break said "at least we can see all the cheapskates down one ailse now" i went mad at them, saying that sometimes that is all people can afford.
This comment comes from the person who has 3 weeks in florida every year! Nice life if you can have it...some of us can't, can we!

We just bought a variety of value goods this weekend and I can tell you I wish I'd tried them earlier, definate winners are the Kitchen Roll, Biscuit Barrel Selection, Chocolate Spread, Chocolate Digestives, Jaffa Cakes, Curry Sauce. I didn't like the taste of the Strawberry Whip (3p) but the children enjoyed and you can't really complain at that price. I'm interested to taste the value spaghetti, anyone tried it?Consider anything only don't cry!0

I have been buying tesco value beans, spagetti, pizza and ice cream for a while now as we are low income and the only one we did not like was the tuna.
Things like toilet roll are not worth buying, we found you use 2x as much as a decent brand.
Also I buy value dishwasher tablets and there exactly the same as branded ones.
With the washing powder I buy the tablets and only use 1 rather than the recommended 2 and I get twice the amount of washing done.
Considering the toilet roll is less than half the price of it's nearest rival, I still use it. I refuse to pay good money for something that literally goes straight down the drain - or into the gerbil's cage - or various other uses! OK, it isn't that soft, but it does the job, and I use just the same whatever make I use!
And the chocolate digestives are great - so my daughter says anyway. She announced she was on a diet the other day (she's size 8 and never on a diet really, thank God!), and I saw her disappearing up the stairs with the pack of value chocolate digestives, "what happened to the diet" I shouted, her reply - well I havn't had any crisps today!
I use more or less anything value, except washing powder. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
