New iPods. The iPod Nano (merged)

If you send an ipod to apple for repair you get either:

1. A brand new ipod (any complaints?)

2. A refurbished ipod which might be a newer model (never an older one) and has been fitted with a brand new case, scroll wheel and battery. So the outside is all new and you get a new battery, does it really matter if the circuit board is the same one you sent in?

I know i'd be happy with this, can anyone who wouldn't be happy tell me why? perhaps some special connection with 'your' capacitors?

Got mine this morning, it's lovely Black 4GB version.

No complaints, however I need a decent case/skin for it otherwise it's going to get scratched to buggery.

The mini should be reduced very soon, as it's been discontinued now.

When the nano becomes available in normal shops (it's only available in the Apple Store ATM AFAIK) then I'd expect the mini to be reduced.

eBay and second hand prices are already becoming lower since the nano came out.

It's pretty much the same price everywhere, much like most Apple products. To get it cheaper than the retail price, you can use the Apple educational discount if you are a student. If not, look out for voucher codes for various online stores in the voucher forum. Also use a cashback site such as Quidco to earn a few quid back (and a cashback credit card if you have one )
