Purpleivy, it sounds like the sort of thing you might have on your plate at a buffet after picking up a bit of everything. Not a natural combination but yummy all the same!

Anyway, I've been and bought my discounted James Martin cookbook... and did I stick to my word and not buy any other books? NO I DID NOT :o I ended up with the Reader's Digest 30 Minute Curries book for £4, RRP £9.99, and a muffin book, also £4, RRP £12.99. They were not in the budget but as I only had to pay for half of my singing lesson last night, I'm still a couple of quid up...

Somebody stop me buying cookbooks, or I'll have to move out of my flat to make room for them :o

Also today I have had a very positive experience with an Ebay seller - the guy who sold me my breadmaker. I had contacted him to say the rye paddle was missing, and he found one for me and I've just received it in the post :T So my SD255 should now do the full range of things I wanted it to do. When I get home I'll be leaving him positive feedback :)

Right, lunchtime is over - back to Arsch-Ellbogen disentanglement (I Like that one the best - it sounds like it was researched in detail by a couple of boffins in white coats called Arsch and Ellbogen :D)

PENPIN - sending (((hugs))) to you.

ELONA - perhaps someone on the techie board can help with your DD's laptop. She sounds like my DS2 when he was a teenager. It was ALWAYS someone else's fault!

MARTYN - it may have been me - my owl 'whoos'! If it's a Tawny, that's wonderful and, if it's a female - well, how much more perfect could it be?

I've just had my lunch, finished making the Manchester Tart (I've called her 'Maggie', TNG), and dealt with the mail and now I'm going to have another cuppa and do some knitting. The sun is beaming here at the moment and we have a fair bit of blue sky, too.

Catch up with you all later.

    Good Afternoon All

 is not the word! e-on has just rung to advise me of a gas debt of over £342, which I have to pay back due to the meter not being set to the correct charges/tariff for a period of 2yrs. Despite it being a pre-paid meter, Im not happy! They've done this to me last year regards the lecky, and now they want to charge me again! Ive politely told him, to re-check his figures, and come back to me with a nil balance as they arent getting another penny from me for something which isn't my fault! Where do I stand with this?

Then - trying to sort out a re-payment plan for a catalogue, they was wanting to put me on a payment plan but add interest, which would cost more than double what I owe! Managed to sort it in the end! I might just let it go to a debt agency and offer them, rather than pay that amount.
Annoying thing is, Ive written to them twice in the last 2 months, and they've ignored my offer!

Anyway, back from work, WM & TD working over time.
Got to go out later with DS to help him with his geography projects, which means travelling to different shopping areas and collate information!

well done dlb on the weight loss
Happy Anniversary to Mr & Mrs Catzine!
kyle - ouch re the ear, hope it gets better soon.

Thanks guys ref the advise how to handle dad, Ive decided I will start off with general chit-chat, see how it goes, then edge towards finding out my answers. It may not happen in 1 meeting, but it could be start! But then again, things could be different on the day! He is playing with my emotions and its not fair, and I know a lot of his "lack of communication" is down to my step-mum. He keeps quiet to keep the peace with her!

Anyway, best be off - sorry for the rant again!
    Love Emma xxx

    Afternoon all,

Nothing exciting here to-day...DD4 dragged me for a walk in the woods this morning, didn't really want to do it but enjoyed the whole half hour when I got there...really need to up my exercise or my whole body will seize up and I will really feel old!

Hugs to Smoky, PP, Anniestar, Mrs Mix and anyone else in need or want

Off to Kerry for the long weekend sometime to-morrow morning...OH has vacuumed the car so he must think that we are going at the crack of dawn as we used to do when the offspring were small...they used to sleep most of the way. Not planning on doing that to-morrow, taking it easier, its nicer that way.

May not be back until Monday so have a nice weekend all

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Is this not Dr Arsch and Prof Ellbogen, identical twins, separated at birth, now conducting research on themselves at the Research Institute of Heidelberg. It's known as the Arsch-Ellbogen paradox, as people don't know the one from the other ;)

    Congrats to the Catznines

    Kyle - that sounds nasty

Catowen - best of luck with shoe shopping - I'd rather clean out the loo!!

Crazy - get yourself down CAB sharpish. I did this for a man on a pension a couple of years back, and got the extra written off. If the gas company can't be bothered to update their meter in 2 years        they don't deserve the arrears. Take a look at your bill, too. You may well be paying extra on your tarrif for the "privelege" of having a token meter.

Here ends today's advert for the badly struggling CAB service ;)
