Also anyone noticed what things are like across the border at the minute? Going through Aughnacloy tomorrow and was wondering whether it's worth nipping across to fill up or am I better in the supermarkets in the North?
As far as the hearsay goes in the pubs this weekend, the 8 cent budget rise and the falling pound now means its a couple of quid (less than 5) saving per tank fill.

Having said that, by the time you get there the Irish government could have a done a U-turn on that too!

Tesco have 5p off a litre now when you spend £50 in store. :j Every little counts.

Edit - now Asda are cutting another 2p off a litre from tomorrow - to 97.9p

Thanks for this! Reckon I may as well get it at sainsburys for 99.9p - at least I get nectar points and can use my amex cashback credit card...

Oakley fuels, 93 frosses road, Ballymoney, (used to be Murphy's) are selling unleaded 95.9, Diesel 104.9

They also provide a voucher book for discount on luxury hotel breaks with are linked with Leisure breaks NI. Spend £250 on fuel with Oakley Fuels and get 3 nights B&B free in a top hotel in N.I or the Republic. (70 hotels to choose from) You have to pay for food (breakfast and 5 course meal) which starts at £32.50 each/night.
  • The one at the bottom of the Doagh Road in Newtownabbey (beside Iceland) is now at 95p per litre for petrol and 107p per litre for diesel. Even diesel will soon be at £1 a litre before long. Opec might put a stop to that though - the gits!

The only thing that will slow the fall of petrol prices is the very weak pound/dollar exchange rate......3 mths....gone from $2 to the pound to....1.60 today!!! USA has reduced its demand for oil by 10% in recent times....nearly enough to take up slack of 1.5 million barrels reduction by itself!!!

Oil gone from $147 late July...to $61 today......still doesnt quite add up!

And Tesco are still doing the 5p off a litre if you spend over £50 on groceries which will help
  • My usual in the Doagh Road, Newtownabbey, beside Iceland, down again! Is now 94p for petrol and 106p for diesel.
