When I make seeded loaves I just make the dough in the breadmaker, adding the seeds when it beeps. Then I put it in a tin in the ovnand it turns out very edible. I usually time this for after ive done some other oven cooknig or to cook with somethin else to save gas. Im thinking of only using the BM to make dough actually as its a lot nicer done in the oven!

thanks for that - never thought of doing it that way! :D

edited to say (((hugs))) to madmittens - hope your dad is soon feeling better x

Mrs Irwin, if this is your first, don't take caster oil.

My friend has taken caster oil with her last three children (3 of 5), the first arrived two days later at home, the next arrived about a day later and the third arrived within a matter of hours and her partner missed the birth because he had run off to get her a bottle of water!!!

Also, as much as I love them dearly and find it funny when the two year old has covered himself in pink paint!!!! the 3rd child was not too badly behaved but then when the younger two appeared, they all turned into devils and run rings around my friend.....maybe it was the caster oil

If you do decide to take it, only take a spoonful, this is what my friend has taken, but surely I've put you off when with two year old boys and pink paint (he loves a hairband too!!), 4 year olds who grass you up (told the 15 year old what her punishment would be for going out when grounded cos she'd heard her mum say it) and the 15 year old who goes out when grounded and can be a right moaner!!

    hi all good morning,

beautiful day outside. Managed to have a barbie last night( bbq not the plastic variety!!). so now salads are back in and will be featuring haevily on the menu whilst the sun stays out.

does any one have any good ideas for food that travels well ? going on a bit of a driving holiday and want to keep motorway service spends as low as possible. The price of petrol is bad enough without drinks , snacks meals etc.
we will be eating out a fair bit in the evenings so i would like to economise a bit during the day, hopefully then i can save enough for another trip later in the summer. Any ideas gratefully received.

Quick update and change siggy in a mo.

Went to MrT this morning, very packed, I think people are getting ready for the weekend.
Spent £54.98:eek: ,but hoping this will cover some of next week as well and will still need to go to butchers sometime. Went a bit over board, i`m afraid but treated me and OH to some luxury ice cream(kids get the value stuff). I was hoping that the utterly butter promotion was still on, but no. So couldn`t stock up on that.

Hoping to make HM quiche later, to go with the salad and kids will have sausage, mash and beans. Made the mini meat loaves last night, a real winner, with one left over, so DS1 can devour that with his dinner. Also made a choc bread and butter pudding last night, DS1 ate 1/3 of that and the rest can be eaten later today.

I think I will give myself a rest today from weeding as I have been at it most of the week. So will check on plants and water.

I have had enough, I am sick of spending between£100- £150 per week between food and cleaning product. So much food wasted and a freezer full of stuff, ok nothing exciting, pizza, chicken dippers, burgers etc. Have beans and soups in cupboard and I am sure loads of other stuff.

I have decided to set a £100 limit on shopping this week and intent to stick to it. So here goes to do a list of things I have and see how many meals I have the food for. Need to keep £10 for bread and milk during the week so hopefully can get main shopping today for less than usual , will leave my debit card at home so will have to spend less lol

    Wish me luck

    Week beginning 9 May £100.00............Spent £0.00
    TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T

    Hi doelani,

I'll add your post to the grocery challenge as that is the best place to get help and support in cutting your grocery bill down.

Also have a look at Martin's article:

Supermarket Shopping: Halve your weekly bill by beating the system

    Good luck!

I haven't spent anything on groceries this month yet :A [STRIKE]says she hoping nobody will remember how drastically last month's budget went to pot[/STRIKE]

I urgently need F&V and dishwasher salt (which normally comes out of the "household" budget rather than the grocery one, but I've already bust the household budget this month, thinking I wouldn't need anything else :o) but everything else can wait until next week. Except possibly mustard, which I think I need for a recipe. I am trying not to do what I did last month and get over budget really early on in proportion to how much month is left - IYSWIM.

Mrs.Irwin - hope baby is on its way!
madmittens - hope your dad is on the mend.
