I'm up to £45.84 so far already this month! Ahhhhhhh! BUT we went into the 99p shop yesterday and dh hair stuff which is £3 normally was in there so we spent £20 on that! He gets through a tub a week so it saved us £2 per week! Not strictly groceries bUt our budget is a bit tight so there isn't much room for negotiaition. Next month I think we'll have to include £20 miscelanious.
Ayway, i'm going to wait as long as I can before I do our main food shop this month as we've got enough in for meals for at least a week and a half! So STAY OUT OF ASDA!!!!!
    Good luck everyone!

    Hi doelani,

I'll add your post to the grocery challenge as that is the best place to get help and support in cutting your grocery bill down.

Also have a look at Martin's article:

This is where it gets complicated lol 4 adults ( 2 late teens ) 7 days a week . Then 3 teenage stepchildren 2 days a week. This can vary some weeks 3 days and some time only 1 comes so hard ot plan meals but going to plan the days they are here to make something from freezer.

opps and almost forgot a dog lol

Hi there guys! today went to town and made first mistake of the day by taking ds with me, stocked up on premium ice creams from the farmfood shop, second mistake walking past woopsie aisle in asda on way to buy porridge oats that everyone seems to use. so found myself buying loads of woopsies and spent £24!!!!!! I don't know how you all stay on buget!
Thinking of investing in a breadmaker does anyone know how to make chelsea buns?
findingmyfeet on going away I always pack sandwiches, crisps, fruit and bottles of squash (not fizzy and don't forget the plastic bags incase they feel unwell! better to be safe than sorry) if I take sweets its usually chewy ones rather than choc in case its sunny. ps dont forget the baby wipes they cover a multitude of spills! hope this helps

madmittens hope your dad is better soon

Just been doing an inventory (from memory!) of what's in the freezer, and coming up with things to make with them.

Among my whoopsie bargains last weekend at Asda were a couple of bits of smoked cod, totalling about 580g if my memory serves.

    Am thinking about kedgeree now.

Anybody got a failsafe, uncomplicated recipe?

OMG, it's only the 9th May & I have already spent £98.60!!!!!!!!! Went to Mr T last night, bought ready made curry, reduced to £1.50, then 342. Good buy if not MSEr, but I gave in. No one enjoyed it to add to my woes. Haven't been in the mood for GC this week, loads of family stuff happening. DD1 didn't get job she was after, totally devastated.:( There isn't exactly loads of jobs for A level students, school useless, not wanting to know as not going to uni.
Mum still in hospital, 4 weeks now, with no sign of her coming out, dad very depressed about it all.:(
DD2 hosp appt, now needs loads of tests & admission soon for unexplained abdo pain.
DS, uni exam time, very stressed.
    DH, yipee!!!!! he's OK!!!!:j
Me, feel as if my head is going to explode!! can't even think about meal plans, stocking the freezer & GC. I'm suprised I haven't spent double what I have.Am going to sit in the garden now, unless the dog follows me & starts barking, in which case I will [strike]shoot[/strike] take her indoors & feed her buisuits untill she goes pop!!!! [joke]
2011, this will be my year .
