Hi
My BM paid for itself in no time (I now have 2 to keep up with family demand) I haven't worked it out for a while but it worked out at about 45/50p a loaf for plain white and a bit more for the special seeded loaves. Not bad considering some of the bread I have seen in the shops has been £1.50 !!!
Also you do know what you are putting in to your bread which is always a good thing

Hi guys
My third NSD in a row! am so chuffed. Made some gorgeous potato bake tonight with stir fry veges and some chicken breasts, with some lovely melted cheese on top. Am really enjoying using up stuff and deciding what to eat and since I've been on this calorie controlled eating plan, I'm eating so much less so everything seems to go so much further.
Good luck everyone
Cheers
Casper

Well, did my first shop of the month and it came to £100:eek: I did stock up on flour, rice, pasta and beans. Last week I was like Old Mother Hubbard, my cupboards were bare. How do you all find such wonderful bargins? I look and just don't seem able to find any whoopsies. Come on share your secrets.
We have spent far too much on meals out this weekend but that comes out of OH money but we really need to put a curb on it if we want to decorate the house. I will have to start a new mantra "I hate food".January spend = £100

Well Zend - it does vary by supermarket. At my local Morrisons you're lucky if you get 20% off on an item's sell-by date. The other week I managed to get some chicken breasts reduced by about 75%, but that was when the guy came round with the yellow stickers a massive TEN MINUTES before closing time
On the other hand, my nearest Tesco and (especially) Asda are pretty good for 75% reductions in last couple of hours of trading.
I know a couple of branches of Sainsbury's where last-minute reductions to 10p or 20p are not unheard of... but unfortunately I don't live near either of them any more :rolleyes:Operation Get in Shape

Had a lovely day at the wildlife park. Girls got in free as they had birthday cards from park and ds is under 3. So only!! had to pay for 2 adults Mind you it still came to £22. Beautiful sunshine and plenty of fresh air to wear the kids out. Hopefully they'll sleep all night!!!!! Also managed to spend £7.50 on 5 icecreams:eek: what a rip off but you can't say no when it is a treat can you.?! Updated signature as I have now found asda receipt. Made a list of everything in the freezer so when I go shopping tomorrow hopefully I will only buy what I need
. I also need to make some HM soup as I have a load of toms that are getting very ripe on my window sill and I must plant some lettuce seeds in my window boxes I am fed up with the price of lettuce.
Had beef steak tonight for tea (whoopsie 6 slices, thinish for £2 and used 4) so now off to finish bottle of wine (lidls of course!!!:rotfl: )Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

I have also bookmarked the naan breads as I am going to do them for our chicken curry in the week. Knew I could rely on you guys to come up with some ideas
hi sharon...what temp did you cook your yogurt cake at cos it doesn't say on the recipe! was yours scrummy?;) i fancy having a go in the morning with some runny yogurt that went wrong in the yogurt maker :rotfl:0 -
Beef and mushroom burgers
Thanks for that recipe, I'll definitely be giving them a go!
A nice twist on the 'cheeseburger' idea is a homemade burger topped with grated cheese and little ketchup, then fold into a tortilla flour wrap, grill, and squeeze to seal. Seriously good food, serve with spicy wedges, nomnomnom!0 -
:hello: Good evening everyone, just a quick update.
Third NSD today yipee!!:j My meal planning went to pot during the bank hols, but can`t complain as no spends.
Had a bar-b-cue on sat that was brought for us, left over meat was eaten yesterday and today, I was going to do a beery bacon pie, that some kind person posted(sorry forgot who it was). Instead made a layered hotpot thingy!. I layered sliced potato on bottom of dish, thin layer of onion, thin layer of bacon pieces and carried on until ingrediants ran out(made sure finished with a layer of pots). Then added 1/2 pint of veg stock and left in the oven for roughly 2 hours gas 4 or 5. Was very tasty.
I`m sure someone has posted something very simular, but not sure who. Any way already had ingrediants in so that was my third NSD day, so tomorrow I won`t be so lucky, as school meals will have to be paid and I`m sure I`ll had to do some shopping.

Goodness! I feel quite exhausted after going through 13 pages!!
Am trawling the internet for free samples of toiletries to take on holiday rather than buying travel sizes of things. Got some simple derma handcream and some nivea for men moisturiser so far. Toothpaste is next on the list!
My dentist gave me my travel size toothpaste free! Colgate sensitive-that was in January. Ask if they have any samples as the small ones in the shops ar as expensive as the full size!:j :j :j :j :j
Well it was the receptionist actually. When I booked other appointments for the other family members she handed me 5 tubes-one each!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0
