By the way - we had a bbq yesterday and got the burgers freshly made from the butchers....35p each which I didn't think was too bad! Especially because you knew exactly what was in them!
the burgers sound good but how do you know exactly what was in the them - does he list the ingredients? married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
Morning all
My 4th NSD in a row now :j mind, I have joined the "spend nothing for a week challenge" which starts today..... have checked and double checked and i have plenty of everything...had a mini wobble that i was getting low on fruit  but when i went into the basement and had a peek in hubbies beer fridge (which i use for an overflow fridge:o ) I had 2x2 kilo oranges and 8 more yogurts in there :j ..and on the shelving -hiding behind the weetabix i had 4 huge tins of fruit 1 peach, 1 pineapple, 1 pear and 1 apricots....so that should keep me going
Hubby has left for his golf competition so i only have myself to feed until tomorrow evening...so it will be mainly fruit, yogurts, SF jelly. Hubby has has been packed up with the last 10 date/pineapple bars and a flask of coffee for the journey and the bars will then go in his trolley to keep him going... really filling and full of slow releasing energy -so that should keep him ticking over through the day and not cost him a fortune:T
Have nipped into the garden to check the tubs and overnight lots more has popped its head through the compost :j , Still have loads more to move outside from the spare bedroom windowsand more to plant  ..im hoping to get the membrane down on a patch of garden today -its earmarked for the butternut squashes, courgettes, aubergines and petit pan squashes
and then i can move the melons, chillies and peppers into the tentsheck im easily excited :rotfl:
Had better get off and get started...
have a great day everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Ate quite a lot of salad this weekend as we were given some lettuces and salad leaves, which was lovely. Made some HM burgers for the first time, which everyone enjoyed. Spent a lot of today weeding the veg patch, planting the tomotoes out and sorting out my chilli plants. Looks like I'll have at least 15 chilli plants growing!! Not sure what I'll do with them all:o
hi galactic green,
about putting the tomatoes out, I keep reading different advice about when to do it. BBC gardening site says not till they flower. Is that what you did? One of mine died which I'm sad about but I don't think her stem was hardy enough!:o

morning,
well i hoped for a nsd but as we have hardly anything fresh in (no carrots, potato's, lettuce etc) i'm going to have to go to mr S at lunchtime and see what i can get.
have meal planned til next thursday already and inventoried (sp?) the freezers, fridge, dry goods and condiments. amazing how many meals you can make from what you have in.
have decided tho that i'll plan, OH can just eat what he's given, as i was suggesting things and he was umming and ahhing over if he wanted them.Nonny mouse and Proud!!

Just spent a mammoth £83.34 of my monthly budget yesterday.
I'm horrified at how steeply the prices are still going up. Sunflower oil was £1.09 in Netto yesterday. Thats nearly double what it was not so long ago. And Morrisons have put their cheap instant whip up from 3p to 8p. I know its still cheap but that was such a lovely pud for hardly anything that the kids loved.
On the plus side, like many of you my veg are growing like billyo so I'll soon be making a few savings there.
Off to stir my vat of bolognaise ready to freeze up....thank goodness for whoopsied meat!MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

superspam, I was going to put my BM on freecycle as I don't use it, I don't know where you're based, but if it would work out cheaper to have that posted to you, or you wanted to collect you could have first refusal.;)
