    hi

well, having a really good day so far....Mr Postman brought me a £5 gift card from tesco cos i had to complain about some dogfood i'd bought (it had all the same flavours in a multi-pack) and i also got a cheque from nescafe for some coffee i'd bought that had 'gone off' :j

so off i tootled to tesco, and i only spent £5.31 after they'd taken my £5 gift card off. i managed to get dog food, more veg to make a big pan of soup, and i used the gift card to pay for 2 bottles of Surf small & mighty cos i love the smell, but it always feels like too much of an extravagance to buy it ;)

plus its a lovely day and that ALWAYS puts me in a good mood :D i've walked the dogs, done all my housework, and got 2 loads of washing out on the line, so now the rest of the day is all mine :j

hope everyone else is having a good day, and you've all got the sun shining wherever you are xx

That is good news mandy moo.

I love days like this, sun is shining, free food with voucher, and a nice walk with the dog. Unfortunately i have to borrow a dog, but put up with Mr. B instead.

Did the first shop of the month yesterday - £17.46- in Morrisons. Bought their broccoli quiche which is BOGOF. I know I should make my own but this will be quick for teas after work. I have a freezer full of home made meals, thanks to DD gilliana (went back today) so I'll be able to avoid a major shop for a while. Really enjoying getting my veggie box delivered once a fortnight and going to the butcher more, supermarket less. I'm finding that I'm eating much more veg and also avoiding temptation of last minute supermarkets buys. We'll see how i do this month but I am feeling confident - famous last wordslaughing-smiley-014.gif

Hello everyone, I've run out of the reduced bread and biscuits as I didn't stock up with any but have 2 loaves proving (2 new recipes) and have 3 trays of biscuits ready to cook whilst the over heats up and cools down from the breadmaking. Have defrosted a pack of mince (33p) and am going to throw that in the slow cooker with tomatoes, onions, peppers, oats and garlic. Hopefully, by the time I get home in a couple of hours, I'll have frugal bolognese sauce that will feed 3 and have enough left over to freeze for a later date. Need to juggle freezer containers with bags but previous to this challenge, I'd just have bought more tin foil containers, so I HAVE learned something. :)

Have a good weekend everyone. :)

  • I'm in again for £500 - have been attempting to do the challenges on my own without the support of the boards and have been going way off track. We're going on holiday in less than 8 weeks so some belt-tightening is in order around here. We'll be away for 10 weeks and DH won't eat much of the food that's currently in the house so I'm starting to whittle down supplies so that they're not wasted.

Spent £131 already  although we did a big shop today and I bought lots of bread flour which seems pricey at the moment. Hopefully, this shop will take us through to 10th with one top up of milk and fruit along the way. I've starting sending DH to do these on the way home from work so that I don't get distracted :rotfl:

My aim for the month (in or not ) is £110.00 for the 4 of us up untill 31st may, im hopeing not to go over as i have a nice stocked freezer (small but full) at least 10 days worth of meals in, ive enough non food items for at least 2 months (nappies, wipes, toilet rolls, loo rolls etc etc), 7 bags of bread flour, 3 boxs of yeast so for this month my shopping should be pure food only, only downside is lack of choice where i live (asda) though there is an aldi nearby as well (never used aldi over in uk is it like lidls) dont get a chance to use the wednesday market in town as its the day my little man go's to the hospital but hopefully from next month that will be an option.

im hopeing to not set foot in asda till tuesday
