Hi - my month ends on Friday as that's when I get paid - don't need to spend anything else until then as cupboards and pantry are bursting so am declaring my May total as £153.32 and moving over to the June challenge now. The money I have saved this month will pay for some new airbeds we need for our next camping trip.

I will declare £181.22 so only just over my £180 budget.

Will stick to £180 again in June and see how we go, won't be helped though by the fact I've just been talking to the farmer where I buy my eggs and he does Beef, Pork and Lamb and sells direct after it has been to the local abbatoir.

Might have to juggle some of next months budget to get half a pig.
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).

Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.

Ok I'm declaring at £136.48. That's 16.48 over budget but we did a lot of entertaining so it could have been worse. I also have a big stockpile of beers and flour so that should help out with all the entertaining we have to do in June!

    Good luck everyone.

Hi all, I did ask yesterday and am asking again (cos I'm going to make Potato and Chickpea curry tonight), does anyone know a curry paste recipe or what to do if, as this recipe calls for 4 tbsp of paste, how much curry powder I should use.....thanks a million

I'm over budget as well - I will hang my head in shame because there's no excuse other than a bit of impulse buying!

    Hi all,

I am going to declare my spend now and go over to the June budget, I don't need anything more now other than milk which I have allowed for in my spend of £186.63. Under budget but I am still not too happy about this as it is only for me and some people on here are doing it for half that amout ????

    Good luck all

Hiya, was gonna make chickpea and potato curry this week (originally posted by Shaz_mum_of_2 on MSE), but it calls for curry paste, which we never use....I have loads of curry powders and dried chillies, etc (some of which brought back from Sri Lanka)

So instead of using 4 tablespoons of curry paste as this recipe calls for, how much curry powder should I use or does anyone have a curry paste recipe

    Thanks

    Clair

I would look at the instructions on the curry powder tin and add as many as you appropriately want for the strength of curry you want. Thing is, you can always add more curry powder if is to too mild, but it is mighty difficult to make a hot curry less FIRE !:rotfl:

how big a cup do you use for this? the same one i got with my MR breadmaker?
Sorry mandy-moo not caught this until now I have a set of measuring cups, but as long as you use the same cup for all the measurements I don't think it will make much difference. My cup is 240ml.

    Booo!!!!!
    Am declaring on £111.88 - £11.88 over budget.:o
But on the happy side I do have plenty of toiletries and cleaning/washing stuff in (may even last the whole of June) and there's a fair bit in the cupboards and freezer.
Will see you all over on the June thread!
