Yes, pears can be stewed - if they're ripe, they'll soften faster than apples so keep an eye on them.
They'd go under sponge, although I prefer crumble - a few raspberries thrown in will keep it a little tart if you like it that way
By the way - only 2 pints of milk? We're lucky if a 6-pinter lasts the day out! (2 adults, 3 children)DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
Added another £4.08 to my total, but hopefully that should be me til june, fingers crossed:o Got nice cheap lettuce in lidl, 47p they are reduced to:beer: and other salady stuff. Got some blueberry muffins and shortbread in the oven:D They should last us the week. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

As you can see I'm a bit over budget already and with nearly a week still to go...
BUT the good news is that I'm not anticipating a pricey week this week. I think it's realistic to assume I'll be bringing the month in somewhere between £60 and £65.
After that, I'll be off my "storecupboard challenge" budget and back to my "normal" one: June will be a 5 week month and I will be starting at £100 (i.e. £20/week) which should be EASILY achievable.Operation Get in Shape

Hi Mandy, I hope MikeD doesn't mind me answering on his behalf (he MAY be too modest to answer himself)but the FM stands for Frog Meister.......it's a long story but some of our longer term members will remember the background and it's all to do with the fact that he is....................

........right, hello again all, sorry I've hardly posted this month. Have been on holiday and then been frantically busy so have hardly had time to keep up with everyone's posts, let alone contribute any of my own!.
Anyway, I think I am doing reasonably well against budget and have been a good girl and kept track of all my spends, just haven't had time to add it all up properly. I PROMISE myself I will add it up and declare my month's total before the end of the week.
Keep up the good work everyone,
cheers

Gone over this month as we got seduced at OH's dads house with a man in a fish van. We bought £63 of fish inc a huge bag of prawns, 6 smoked haddocks pieces, 4 cod pieces, 2 red snapper and two stuffed sole. Not the cheapest but we don't eat enough fish (we both love it) so it'll keep up going for a fair while inc fish pies and kedgeree.
£150 for June should be quite achievable I think.

Im declaring for May at £190
Please put me down for £220 for June as we are away for a week so need a little more in the budget.
June will be my last month for a couple of months as im due to have my colon removed in july and will be in hospital for 2 weeks and then gradually recovering after that.Sealed Pot Challenge - No 1520Want to be debt clear by June 2012:j0
